Randy and Offshore you two need to a reality check. Gunners point is dead on about the differance between Bruinswich built Baja's and Fountain built Baja's. I looked at the 35 Outlaw Fountain built for Kellys Port, hands down better than my old 35. You two have obviously never been in rough water. If you had, you would know that a Fountain will eat up any Baja foot for foot in rough water or top end. I owned a 30 and a 35 Baja Outlaw. Both looked like they were built good. Until I got around quality built boats. They were two of the roughest riding boats. I'm not putting down the 33 Outlaw. They are a nice "entry" level boat.

I am not saying fountains suffer from poor quality. What my understanding from the dealer was, that the QC was sacrificed on the baja's largely due to cut costs on the baja line and the fountain/baja name would sell itself and I assume to increase their margin of safety. They would obviously not sacrifice the fountain lines fit and finish. The outlaw they had left instock did have somewhat of a wavvy finish. My understanding was that fountain used spray on paint and vinyl decals as opposed to the in-gel coloring they previously had on baja's. Either way I am not saying anything bad about either boat. I am sure that their was alot going on in fountains corporate office an decisions had to be made to stay afloat, and unless any of us are employed their we probably would not no the whole story on their position. IMO that is probably why Reggie is getting out to save face.

ATTENTION BAJA OWNERS/SUPPORTERS IN THIS THREAD.
This thread is in the "Fountain" section of OSO and the thread
is about Reggie's leaving and what "Fountain" owners
think about it.
When Brunswick gave Baja to Reggie back in 08'
and we were whining about that back then, the Fountain
guys didn't bother us.....let them discuss this matter amongst themselves.
....... And for what it's worth, I'm not a Fountain fan.

Thank you Interceptor. Could not have said it better my self.
Everyone has personal expierence. Just like when you hear stories when someone has a sports car or truck they beat a mustang, corvette, etc. Was the other guy even racing!? Was it a V6 automatic? Come on fountain brainwashed people. EVERY boat has its place in the market place. Step out of your box and open up your eyes for a second! Fountain is not the only boat out, and not the best in EVERY catagory. Come tie up with me at any beautiful Lake Michigan sand bar, while I have 10 hot bikini girls on my boat and you only have room for 4 in that narrow, tiny, short fountain. Unless you are ONLY running a poker run circuit, or racing, in recreational use a Fountain is not always better then a baja or others. AGAIN, I Have also said many positives about fountain. I Have test drove a 35 on the ohio river with the salesman michael jordon. Yes it turned on a dime. Lots of other boats do also.
I am done. Either respect my comments and opinions or keep living in fatasy world that fountains are the best and only. Then you better hope Reggie starts re rigging them because watch the future, I bet fountain powerboats become smaller and smaller.
