We got to run it up to 120 mph. Somewhere along the way, both of the crank position sensors got bumped out of whack. They would cause the engine to basically shut off for just a second at 5700 rpm. That's a really bad feeling when one engine loses power for just a second and the boat thinks about swapping ends. At first, only the rear engine was doing it. The front engine was about 200 rpm behind the rear one, so it never made it to that point. Once I got the sensor positioned correctly on the rear engine, then it pulled past 5700, allowing the forward one to get to 5700. It then acted up. It's soooo tight to the forward bulkhead that it's borderline impossible to get to. The oil filter is right in the way and the oil was about 225 deg. I just couldn't get it set while bouncing around the lake and burning the crap out of myself.
We are ridiculously busy but I tried to squeeze it in for Eric since he hasn't had a boat for 2 years. So, I really only had a day to get it done. I ended up staying 2 days and I just had to get back. Unfortunately, it's an easy fix but I just ran out of time. Eric dropped the boat off at my shop this morning since it's basically on his way home. We'll get the sensor positioned correctly and go wring it's neck next week. I'll keep ya'll posted on speeds.
