Phil what is the story on the boat that you repaired with the delamination and hole down by the keel area ?

thank you! im sure for the person who is not well rounded in glass repair they think it might be. the formula that had the whole and delam, that i fixed was repaired by a local fiberglass shop. has about 2 sheets of glass and the rest was tiger hair!!! LOL ive been getting more and more jobs in repairing other local fiberglass shops that are hacking stuff together now a days. long story short the kid bought it, had no idea there was ever a repair. he was driving it around the first day he bought it, must have hit something in the water, opened up the old hole, and peeled away a bunch of glass. luckily he made it back to the ramp before the boat sunk. insurance company told him to screw off because there was a previous repair, brought it to me, has ran it all summer no complaints.

Nice work 315duramax stick with it and forget the naysayers. It took Timmy years to learn how to destroy perfectly good parts and then take them past their designed specs and call it good.

Oh of course your out sucking more wieners... Hahah yes look at my year how good it was boating every weekend, what did you do? Sell the Baja for 30,000 with no parts? Nope... Sell the ocean express you got screwed on the title on because your dumb? Nope...

Brian your butt buddy sold me parts under false info and I overcame that issue clearly considering I had a engine trouble free summer after I fixed things... Did you learn how to design engines yet? Or does Bob spec all your custom stuff for you still? Did you ever design engine yourself being such a professional? Nope you uses Bob... You can go fuk yourself up your own conceded Azz, you should hire Phil to do your glass work I'm sure you pay someone to do that for you then say you did it anyway...

Thanks Timmy for helping me with my point, you have been busting this guys balls since day 1 and now that its your turn you take it like champ. I will forward your post to Bob and see if its time to answer what really happened to your engines.

Already made more off the Baja than I was asking for it whole but still have more than 1/2 of the parts left to sell and got 1 1/2 times my asking price on the OE in just 4 days on Powerboatswap. Any more ? "smart guy"

Haha yes forward it then, bob don't want me to open it up he has way more to lose then me over it... Good thinking let's cost him more money for you to make a point that won't win.... Good looking out for him....

I was not even busting Phil's azz, I just think he's not qualified for that type of repair and you can say all you want but you would not let a 20 year old fix your boat with that damage, maybe he's able to butbthatsnserious structure, Phil and I have not been in battles and actually been on decent terms so go blow someone...

Subscribed, as a man in my 20's I have heard this alot. Your to young with not enough experience. Sometimes that is tue, but if your smart enough you can make it happen. It may not work the first time as you planned. Just cut it back out and start over. It's not a customers boat it's yours. You know what you need in the end so just make it happen.

As for the men who are putting him down relax. I don't know him but what I can tell you is you where young and ambitious once as well. The reason engineering and technology improves is because someone tries something or has an idea. Maybe 315 is one of those people, or maybe he isnt. Either way he has a father to tell him if it's a bad idea. If he has questions he will ask someone with some more experience that he trusts and respects. My advice to 315 is don't count your chickens yet. With 5 to 6 years experience there is still a ton to learn. There always is and the best way to learn that is to be humble. Listen to advice and take it constructively. Good luck I can't wait to see it as it comes along

I'm a young "wippersnapper" as well, and get the same treatment from time to time. I say go for it, you don't know until you try. If it don't work out chalk it up as a lesson learned.

In the great words of Edison he didn't fail 1,000 times inventing the light bulb. He found 1,000 ways not to make a light bulb.

Use the negatives as fuel to motivate you!

According to the NY govt. Business database, there is no tax paying business by the name "upstate powerboat" or anything close. The list is current. As of 10-6-2015.

Description:
This boat was just completed by Upstate Powerboat out of Syracuse NY. Were a small shop getting our name for updating and customizing powerboats only. We built this boat specifically to bring to the shoot out and for resale! Boat can be seen all week during the shoot out. Test rides available for serious buyers. Boat will be at the street party on wed night as we'll.

Here's a run down of what we did.

Boat was stripped to a shell. Stringers checked. Took the floor out. Checked tanks. Boat was stripped to gel any cracks were professionally repaired using poly resin. Boat was totally painted in house too to bottom front to back with PPG DBC series paint and clear. Extra clear was added around clears and walk areas so can be buffed more with out going through. This boat was made to be a turn key wave crusher. It's powered by original LOW HOUR merc racing 454 - 420 hp with the gill 420 exhaust system. TRS drives. A lot of people don't like the TRS because they loose speed. But we left them on, because they are I breakable. You will never blow a drive with this power. It's a turn key boat you can get on and enjoy. Got rid of the old style mechanical fuel pumps and put in summit racing electronic fuel pumps. Went through the carbs. New coils and packs. Plugs, etc. Also deleted the water circ pump which are known to fail and did a water by pass WITH thermostats so you can manage your water temp accurately!
Total custom interior was put in with custom embroidery. The only thing we did not do was address the gauges. We kept a more classic paint and interior look and didn't know if the buyer would want Livorsi or classic white set. Out shop depending on price can do the gauge swap. Boat also comes with a 2 year paint warrantee. If paint chips or flakes or fades. It's totally covered. Along with a 20hr full boat warranty.
Much more! Come see us this week!

Boat is registered till '17 and have all the original docs from 89. Only a 2 owner boat. Comes with trip axle trailer 6 new tires. 6 new bearings not a month old.

Please call or text or come see the upstate powerboat cafe at the street party! Custom builds can be talked about as we'll if a cafe isn't your style. Bigger power and drive options available as we'll. no test DRIVES available unless cash or check In hand. But more than welcome to come for a ride

Thanx for the update.

I`ve payed my mortgage last month and my property taxes went up a bit so I had to kick in a little more money this year... in case anyone was wondering about my finances.

It's going to go something like this:

People call Phil out on being young and overstating his abilities, Phil says some dumb chit and acts cocky, some people stick up for Phil, some people stick up for the other side of the argument, people start throwing personal slights at each other, keyboards get hot and butts start hurting, boat ends up 80% done and Phil calls it complete, more people scream and yell at more other people, Phil claims boat is sold to an extremely happy client, spring comes and the rest of us go boating, boat gets sold as a shell next summer after Phil gets screwed by some sleazeball who sees him coming from a mile away. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I still have 3 other boats in the water. Frankly, after hours of cleaning my boat after the last poker run, super low lake level, and weekends full of kid stuff, it just didn't make sense to put the boat back in. I put 60 completely trouble free hours on that boat alone this year, I have no complaints about my season.

Way too much info 315. Delete that rubbish, no need to post personal stuff for the whole world to see, keep it to yourself.

I don't know whether you can fix boats or not so rather than wasting your time defending yourself, start fixing that boat and put up a thread so we can follow the work. Doesn't matter if it takes a while, once subscribed, we will all see when there is an update.

Good luck, hope it goes well.

Exactly. Start the thread with the pics and explain what you're doing to make it a good build thread. Screw all this other stuff. I'll find a forum called Small Business 101 if I want to scrutinize people's tax returns and incorporation papers

If you were a person in a competing business, and Upstate Powerboats underbid you due to the fact that it was not legitimately registered and paying business expenses like licensing fees, insurance, and income taxes...I believe you would care.

If Phil has "gone legit," I am 100% in favor of him kicking ass and taking names.
