I'll bet your boat turned out beautiful, I seen it about 3 wks ago before it was 100% finished. Looked AWSOME ! I'm suppose to take mine there around the 15th of march just for a few touch ups on the gel. He does GREAT work and he's only about 20 min from where I keep it by Jeffs place (RPM).
Oh almost forgot.....708-579-5434

Nobody's gotta twist my arm to get me to go to the beach...just tell me when
We should try to do that every weekend (weather permitting)

Dennis........We talked about this yesterday...gas prices. Go to the General boating discussion section and look at the thread...find the cheapest gas near you... it should be on the 1st or 2nd page. GREAT link, but I don'tknow how to send it to you. You can find the best price of gas in your area in the last 24 hrs. Amazing, I'm gonna save that link. I think we ALL should.........Frank

Now about those Engines
Well....
First time out in July I blew a headgasket and then another a few weeks later.
Was able to get the P-5 hydro's dialed in thanks to Precision Prop in Indy.
The boat was purchased with a speedo that didn't work.
The previuos owner told me that the boat ran 78mph.
The best I could get on GPS in a 3ft chop was 81mph @ 5500rpm.
I did a wrong thing by being too aggressive and taking a lot of steps all at once.
Steps such as going to XR shorties with 5 blade props and the hull blueprinting.
At the season's end I dissasembled both engines to find that the starboard had three pistons with cracked rings and two of the pistons burned.
sgrady - you must have known something that I didn't "about those engines".
What did I gain?
With blueprinting and going to the XR Sportmaster shorties with 5 bladers,
I have a boat that now has a ride attitude that is very enjoyable to run.
The first season the stern would drag through the water and felt like a lot of hull in the water.
With the changes I have lots of stern lift and also the bow doesn't plow.
The boat runs on top of the water and lands close to level when re-entering off of waves.
Also I notice that steering is more precise and I can run through the rough faster with a feeling of better control.
All attributed to blueprinting? Probably not, but I'm sure that it is part of the recipe.
Hopefully next season with a fresh power upgrade I'll be able to attain the increased speed that I'm looking for.

That looks awesome - It should run much better. My 38 lightning is horrible - there is no way they are blueprinted from the factory. Would be worth the extra $$ to do it next time. My 25 Eliminator Daytona was ten time better. Let us know the results.

Only one way to find out.
Get a 6-8' straight edge and check the bottom.

Hi guys! I have done that blueprinting job myself, and what a hell of tough job... VERY time consuming. The disappointment was big when the boat didn't go any faster at all... I guess the gain must be in setup drive/prop/X-dimention etc. I know the 35 Executioner delivered with 496 HOs have had 1,65:1 ratio drives instead of 1,5:1. They say it goes 5 mph. faster... I guess the 38 Fever cas made in a time when big horse power was more common, and therefor the boat was build for this. Maybe that make them slower with 420s. I don't know. Good that there are someone who does this job on large boats like this. Keep up the good work!!
