A recent article in the Naples Daily news talks about them increasing law enforcement (wildlife officers)presence on the southern tip of the island (where we all hang out). It is all part of the marine sanctuary so there are some things that have gone on that should not be like; unleashed dogs, open campfires and people walking into and through the dunes area. I really don't have a problem with that part but...........they say they want to build docks on the east side of the island so they can control access to that side!!!!!!!! They will leave it unlimited on the gulf side, but you will only be allowed to pull up on the east side if there is dock space. They have not stated as to when this might take place, but how often is the gulf side calm enough to beach? I have no problem with enforcing the existing rules, but the dock idea sux azz in my opinion!

Hmmm Not good ,John. Like you say dogs on leash, dunes etc are all good but ...... I would hate to see our freedom to just slide up on the beach as we now do, taken away. Wish the gov'mt would stop trying to help us. Lots of good times there and hope we have lots more.
