39 nortech runs 92 with staggered 525's. have 2 brand new ones that will be in soon. If anyone is interested, they start at 349,000 plus options, and trailer, and paint. thanks jim 636 236-4141

Maybe someone can explain... A Nortech 3900 with twin Yanmars 500 HP and Arnesons (incl. Herring props) runs 78 mph. How can a Nortech 3900 with twin 525 run 92 mph +?

i would say weight is your biggest difference with the diesels and arnesons compared to a 525/xr boat...

A Yanmar 6LY3A ETP pulls 480 HP and weights 640 kilo. A Mercruiser 525 that pulls 525 HP weights 545 kilos. So its 200 kilos difference and 90 HP less power. 90 HP less power should in theory translate to 4-5 mph less speed. 200 kilo more in weight should reduce speed with approx. 2-3 mph.
So I feel the speed with Yanmars is still low.
