Default Difference between a Fountain Lightning and Executioner?

What is the difference?

Why is the Lightning faster and more expensive?

Cliff notes are fine!

Thanks in advance.

Lightning is a tad slower. Has a bit more headroom in cabin, higher deck, can opt for a/c, gen where as Ex cannot. Ex is more basic design, Lightning has molded side vents, windshield. Ex and Light have same bottom as of later 05 production. Poor guys like me get the Ex.

Poor guys?? I can have any of the 42's and went with the X. All 42 bottoms are the same (PR, LT & X) Decks change. That's all. In the 35's there are many differences.

Love that deck on the X, over the lightning. Never cared for the rounded windshield, but that's just my own preferrence.
The wind farring reminds me of the older race boats.

The Executioner is narrower than the other.(cockpit size) It has the vents on the side and you can walk on the edge of the deck (like a sonic)

Thanks for the info thus far.

We are looking for a used 35, 1998-2002 is within our budget.

Seen 2003 Executioners also within that range, so wasn't sure why they are so much cheaper than some of the older Lightnings.

Really leaning towards a 35' Lightning with Blue motors.
