I wrote post #102.
I know you claim you were there, but that doesn't mean you know who was the person that was responsible for Don Aronow's death. If you agree with Greg Smith...Ok. If you don't, then let's hear it.

Whether or not we as members of OSO and the offshore power boating community in general agree or disagree on anything related to or surrounding Ben Kramer, Don Aronow et. al, one thing is for certain. It is a human interest story of significant proportion. As enthusiasts of this addiction we call performance boating, we cannot hide the fact that the roots of the sport lie in an underground world of the 1970's and 1980's that has shaped much of today's America.
I for one have enjoyed immensely, reading the various works written on this subject and would enjoy reading yours Robingo. In no way shape or form is this to say or intend to put any of these people on a pedistal and hold them out to be model citizens. It is simply as I stated earlier, a human interest story that runs deeper for us (at least myself) due to our love of the sport.

Sometimes when you are entering a business deal... not only is it prudent to state what comes with the sale... but what does NOT come with the sale. Anecdotal stories about Aronow say he would sell a boat business... but it was really only the molds and the name. The new owner would complain that there wasn't enough cloth and resin left to make a hatch cover. Then he would move next door and start a new company and take the sales with him... Well duh.... if you aren't going to put "anti-competition" clauses in with the sale.... you leave yourself open for headaches. This is the nature of business and law.

I see no problem with how Don did business, its capatalism at its best. Unfortunately , it may have gottem him killed..
