I would check into the Federal Anti-Splash laws and their guidelines. They are in place to guard against reproducing somebody else's engineering.

I wish you the best of luck with it Rockit.

But big V's in Aluminum have been tried before (Cougars and a few others) and unless it's a shear racing rig staying in the water for a couple of hours max I would not even get close to that with Nort's Johnson...

In one way or another you'll have water in a crease somewhere maybe even salt water since your on the left coast and then you won't need batteries anymore your ride will be an enormous electrolysis experiment (read "messed-up leaking battery" aluminum+salt water) that will not have much re-sale appeal... Maybe you have all these issues resolved and I wish you the best but...

I would of even gone for a Fountain before going down that road and that is not saying much...

Again this is my very humble opinion and I hope you actually have all my concerns and any other addressed and I wish you good luck.

G.L.

Put aside my previous posts about bottom design for now. How are you adressing the hull noise issue that aluminum boats make in rough water?

As light as it will be in anykind of sh!t the noises will be from the welds popping... Nothing beats weight in rough sh!t.

GLH I agree, you can cheat on weight with carbon because it doesn't flex, but aluminum will flex, and the welds will be put under tremendous pressure.

Why are people pounding on this guy? Did I miss something?

Seems to me to be a very ambitious project, congrats for trying something away from the mainstream.

Besides, it's his boat. I usually reserve the right to talk sh!t about a toy only when it sits in MY driveway.
