I have been in the 1st ol ever made best ride I ever had in a rough water boat , the next would be a sutphen 35 . OL42 GTX with 900's out ran a beek 42 with 900's I was there SAW IT 2002 OL OL OL OL OL OL OL OL OL OL OL GTX OL GTX OL GTX ALL DAY LONG AND THE NEW 39 WILL HIT OVER WITH 525S WHO NEEDS A CONDO THE 42 IS A CONDO IN THE CABIN AREA

looking at it from an industry perspective, boat to boat, 1 off rig to rig, and build quality, it's simply a matter of taste. blonde or brunette. i have run both boats. rough or flat. have rigged both fountain's and ol's. have a sincere passion for both. 2 great friends own each of them.

But we all know OL is ridiculusly over priced, which is why you have to take reality out of the poll in order to have a poll. If you optioned a Fountain out with a 50 - 100k paint job, McCloud seats, Sterling power Custom Dash and Cockpit Cowel you'd match the OL and still have lot's of cash left over. You know, $ for stuff like a trailer, truck to pull it, gas for a few years along with storage and maintenance. The Fountain is faster, more reasonably priced and an overall better value. The boat I bought this winter was set up by Reggie and the guy who set it up paid extra for that. It was still loads cheaper and is rigged flawlessly. It can be had for a realistic price if you want something more than the base boat. Oh yea, a base boat that kicks serious butt and is far from junk. But you are right, the poll was for two identical boats, so I picked the faster one, the Fountain. (please note the folks trying to change the poll by mentioning a different OL that they hope could compete on speed - even think they started a whole new thread on it) If I wanted drop dead stunning, well laid out kick a$$ looker - everyone knows you get a Cigarette...
