I have an aluminum arch on my Cigarette with a Raytheon Radar on it.
Much of my boating is done at night & it helps BIG TIME.
I also go up to Block Is. and Newport alot & have had alot of trips where I couldn't see the bow of my boat due to fog.

I like them on the big boats 35+ however needs to look right and fluid with the styling of the boat.

Ya, I have one on my 35 Sonic. The first thing I was going to do when I bought it was take it off. (It's only 6 or 8 bolts) Anyway, everyone we hang out with said they liked it. The paint blends into it awesome. Also, I have a bimni attached to it which is very practical. It's great for sitting on and you have a birds eye view!

DJD, when people ask me whether they should buy GPS or radar I tell them to buy the GPS if they are planning on crossing Lake Michigan, but to buy the radar if they plan to boat primarily along the coast. The coast is plainly visible on the radar display, along with any other boats, pierheads, buoys, fishnet markers, etc. Radar's a great tool in the fog.

Thumbs up

I have a Baja 38 Special and we added one so that we could incorporate a bimini with it. Since we boat year round in Fl, it sure makes it nice when the you have had either too much sun or when raining. It is also an additional location for an extra set of speakers and I always had someone wanting me to crank up the stereo in the rear so they could hear.

I love them on ALL boats
I would not buy a boat without one
I plan on upping to a sonic in the future,
If it does not have an arch, I wont even look at it let alone consider it as a possible purchase
Gives the boat more of a racing look
No has nothing to do with Miami vice either

(that damn show always comes up when talking about offshore boats)

Let the damn show die already
Love the arch, always will have a boat with an arch
its all about the arch
(and a pair of sc mercruisers!!!)

I like mine. ITs on a Baja Force 27'. I dont like them on all boats, but if the lines match up I do like the way they look.
