If you don't like boats or water, you won't like it there. 
Some friends owned a home there a couple yrs ago. Buy a house for 1x, live in it for a couple yrs, sell it for 3x. That's were I want to retire. Right in the middle of the Keys and where no one is in a hurry to do anything. Where else can you find a 5 million $ home right next to a mobile home and think nothing of it?
