I just read this and the cat thread in their entirety, it is now almost 4 in the morning and I have to leave for work in about 2 hours
They were both great reads with alot of good info and alot of just plain stupid comments by people, entertaining stuff.

Somebody needs to get t2 reved up again!!!!!......I know there must be some west coast 22 ft triple stepped v bottom guy out there who just wanting to speed in 2T's no wake zone...........

Try Reading some of the apache threads!!!! There six times as long, six times the silly coments, but six times the insightnes others and T2x gives. I read the one that was 173 pages long. It awnsered alot of questions but also raised many more

Absolutely fantastic thread; 1975-1988 I'm spending a lot of time with friends in Magnums, Formulas, Bertams, Chris-Crafts, Donzis and Cigarettes and Scarabs. Knew that there were some other brands like Performer, Cary, Signature, Excalibur, etc. and only saw them when we headed down to Ft.Lauderdale/Miami. Also knew of some new fangled Executioner, but we didn't take it very seriously (not a real deep vee - and we were of the "no beak, no bustle, no bull" mentality).The thing that mattered most was seaworthiness. To that end, we were constantly re-engineering the production boats (Chris's, Formulas and Wellcrafts) to bring them up to a decent standard. Fast forward 17 years, omigod....
I'm in awe of the reliable horsepower and drivetrain combinations. The state of the art in other marine systems (pumps, filters, controls, etc) is equally amazing. I'm also somewhat bemused by the level of hip, slick, trick, cool, trendy silly and goofy. I can only hope that the new performance boater's appetite for color coordinated (do these fuschia drive rams clash with my periwinkle trim tabs?) bling is matched by their enthusiasm for improving boat handling, navigation and safety skills. Hopefully also, more of the original spirit of man v.s. the sea percolates through the ranks.
