This is a real shame. Having lived in Alabama and boated on Lake Martin, it is unbelievable what can be done with the stroke of the legislative pen. People who have a significant investment in their powerboat just found out they are illegal to use on lakes they have been boating on for years. The bad news for the rest of us is that unfortunately this type of legislation will not stop in Alabama. Before we know it we will all be putting around in 18' Bayliners with 4 bangers for power (not that there is anything wrong with that if you own an 18' Bayliner ). Good Luck and maybe some miracle will happen in the Governor's office.

The state calls my Sonic a "Cigarette"

Now you're saying a Cigarette is a Houseboat

After listening to our senate yesterday for 3.5 hrs
I'm not sure either

Going to be lots of action on the lake the next couple of months

1 marina that was vocal against--- caught fire this morining
(Anchor Bay)

Magic, sorry to hear that and I know it can affect your biz.

Well the law does say Cigarette boats and that is a brand name of boat so you are safe selling Formula's because those are high speed Formula boats! I interpret the law as they just banned Cigarette (brand) boats.
