I dont think the insurance companies make a distinction between rated and prop shaft horsepower. If your running a manufactured engine I would use the advertised horsepower, some will be high, some will be low. If its a custom biult engine then I would think you have to go with your dyno numbers.

That's why I never buy a boat until I get it insured
