I hope to sell my 38te Fountain soon! 3100 rpms @ 70 mph cruise = almost 2mpg:cool: |

I'm at 3800rpm 1.5mpg going 41mph or 4100rpm 1.3mpg going 52mph. At WOT 72-73mph I'm done to .9mpg. This seems to be the best out of all the big triple outboard boats though. And the 38TE Fountain won another magazine shoot out in this months Boating magazine.:D |

Sorry Mike- I think your Fountain is an awesome rig, however I don't think it is "sporty" enough for most to be considered an alternative to their "performance" boat.
Replacement for a "go-fast" it is not even though it will outrun a lot of the "go-fast" crowd in my local area! |

Thought I'd bring this back up.

I was in Florida last weekend and briefly looked at a 40' Tempest. Cool boat, certanly not made for fishing. The only down side.... 10' beam. Don't know crap about Tempests, but looked like a cool boat.

Don't blame me it's how I feel about things.
I have a CC for fishing and that's what I think they are for, if you want a go fast, you get a go fast. I don't think any 38' triple engine CC an match a 38' TG (or similar) in any aspect - looks, ride, sex-appeal. If you want to entertain groups of people you buy a Sea Ray. Ok - blast me now!:party-smiley-004: |

As to sex apeal, I have been maried for 20 years to a woman thats out of my league, and I'm happy to have that. As to speed. Running 100 MPH is cool for your passengers for about 38 seconds, I know, the've told me. As to ride quality THATS WHY I WANT A 40' LONG 8' WIDE BOAT!!! Someone make it for me!! |

Simple, wash it down in 5 minutes, thats the way I like to go fishing....Otherwise Id have a MidNight..like a 37:D |
