Seriously, on the Chicago Poker Run, which was the sickest water that I have ever been in... I ran the boat conservatively. I had my 66 year old Dad aboard, and two other guests. I could have trimmed the boat out more, and lifted the bow, but I did not want any major air. I towed 1600 miles roundtrip for the Chicago Poker Run. I didn't make the trip to stay on the trailer, but also did not make the trip to destroy anything. I never once touched the trim tabs. I kept the drives at exactly straight neutral. I normally run them trimmed up 3.5 ticks from neutral.
I could not ask for more in a boat. I am even VERY happy with my stock/warrantied 496HO power package.

It was first badged as a Chief during the Chief attempt at partnering with Active (didn't work) I sold that boat to current owner who was to be a dealer
When Chief screwed the pooch the boat was re badged as active thunder (was always and Active anyway)
The boat is incredible and there is a reason that Pat is gearing thing up to a larger level
The Active is a SUPER boat and i have driven both the 28 and 37 and would never ever be concerned about the handling
It is amazing
OL make a great boat as well
i just have never driven one to comment on its handling
By the way the new slogan for Chief is
"You seen one you have seen them all "
Let Pat and crew explain why the single step works it is an interesting concept and makes good sence
Damn that boat flies level
