Activethundertodd:----- The term "Popcraft" has always referred to copycat or "splashed" hulls. To "pop" was the basis for that term. Maybe it's my age........... FYI, I owned a couple of boat companies in a past life. We never "popped", "splashed", or "borrowed" anybody else's technology. ...... Nor did we "invent" or "pioneer" anything. We were still way ahead of the rest of the field at that time, however. By the way , if you haven't guessed already, I have no use for "popped" or "splashed" boats, nor do I much care for the people who build them. Thanks for your comments.

Popping is an older term,I've always used it and never thought about it.Guess it dates me.In the 60's the most "popped" boat was Glastron.I guess the term started when you used an existig hull as your "plug",and after you laid up your mold on it, it "popped" right off and you had a mold.

Airpacker-------- The Magnum 24.... where else? By the way ,this was possibly the most copied hull in history.....
The Pantera 24, the Superboat 24, etc, etc and most other performance 24's created between 1970-85.

Fast Cat----- I'm happy that you contacted George, and plan to work together. He is the best, bar none....... He and his inner circle are among the few who can challenge Peter Hledin. There are not many who operate at that level. Generally, speaking, George has been so generous with his ideas that other designers have profited from them more than he has. (translation: Keep him away from the phone....especially if Mike Peters calls)
Who knows, maybe. I'll throw in an idea or two..... If he'll let me.
Best of luck

T2x, just wanted to say tha it was great to see you at Dutchmans a couple of weeks ago. Funny thing if you remember my first race boat was built by Mike Peters and Gene Whipp. Gene was one of the greastest guys I've ever meet. I learned alot about boatys and racing from that purchase both good and bad. I agree that once you get a great cat you will never go back to a V hull.
