Tim is still selling cars.......

and the Max Cat, as I recall was a Chris Cat with the pickle forks extended 5 feet.......... sort of a "beak" treatment.

in fact...this....was taken at an early offshore race. You can see that Mercury knew what was coming........

P.S. The drivers face on this awesome shot belongs to the great John Bakos...who will be at the Aronow Race.....

Not Bored ...never saw your post actually... You know I believe that Peter is numero uno as far as current cat designers go worldwide..... You've seen me end post after post with "Buy a Skater"......

I simply like to set the record straight.......

Cats were becoming dominant in Offshore before Skater arrived on the scene (see Big Seas DVD "Cats Conquer Offshore" produced in 1984)....... Skater raised the bar to a point that no one else could consistently reach and brought the styling and constuction up to levels that no one else can compare to. I guess a bunch of pioneers including Ray Leger (Powercat), the Switzers, and Ted Jones started the ball rolling in the 50's and 60's. Cougar made the concept actually viable and successful in Offshore. George and I did our thing, if nothing else, proving there was a viable market for cats. Finally, Peter Hledin perfected the cat concept and, in truth possesses all of the talents of the entire group that came before........

He's simply the best....but not the first....which aint bad all in all.

P.S. Buy a Skater
