Unfortunately..Yes..I am that old..... One of them ...maybe the boat in the Mercury ad ended up behind the Powercat dealership in Port Washington..... who was , of all things..a Johnson dealer....

The forerunnner of the 24' Skater was the 24' wood and 27' glass Cougars. Aerodynamic, fast, not dumpsterlike...........

I like the 24 Cougars the 27's didn't do it for me.... How many of the wood 24's were there?

Only a couple over here. Lots of them in Europe. We could have brought more over, but we only had so much dragging equipment.

As a kid growing up in New Rochelle I worked for a doctor and he bought 2 Power Cats from that dealer in Port Washington..we used to run over for lunch at Louie's!!! Now I am dating myself...good times back then...

The 24's were all wood right? And the 27's were glass? Is that right? I remember Scarlett Ohara's which I think became Smilin' Jacks and there was PARADOX that blew over in the Kilo in N.O. were there more than these two? How fast were they back then? How much did they weigh?
