Could be any or all of the above.

I run a procharger M1 and yes it does whine at idle a bit more then I would like but im used to it. Also I have a a crane 731 cam and I think its perfect, it will idle at 800 rpms without a problem and sounds real nice too, not too much but definately healthier then stock.

Most people who have had issues with prochargers or any other supercharger for that matter did not have them setup correctly. A stock fuel system just is not good enough to run over 3psi.

Bottom line I LOVE the sound.....
Tried supstantial upgrade on fuel system. See photo of the upgrade.

Just sharing my previous experience with Centrifical SC. Was so long ago, seems like a bad dream. Moved on to bigger and better things.

See post #6, my system was a ProCharger Stage III, M3, with a very large intercooler.

2000 season were HP500 carb motors, with lots of upgrades. First season was original carbs with upgrades.

2001 season were HP500 carb motors, with more upgrades and re-done to 509cid. Second season was Nickerson carbs, custom built for the application.

I do not know if I just had bad luck, or other issues raised by atricfreinds in post # 15. Others have done similar upgrades and love them.

For me personally, as I said in post#9, I would NEVER use them again.

I'm running a baja 272. The best it has ran is 92.8 mph gps,5800 rpm's,1.50 drive w/32 pitch 4 blade labbed prop,it will run 89 ish any day of the week w/4 people and 3/4 tk of gas. The video was of boat idling in driveway after installing a stellings box this past summer while checking for leaks, bleeding the steering lines out, etc. I usually run ggb mufflers,in the video they weren't back on yet. The sound from thje cockpit is much different, when idling it is like others described, there is a slight ringing noise from blower rattling the step up gears along with a steady slight whine. At wot throttle is sounds sorta like a turbine,Smitty
