The most important question has not been addressed ???? What kind of water do you boat in,,, Offshore ,, Great lakes Rough or inland rivers and smaller lakes ,,,,,,,, ?? now ,, how much gas do ya want to use each weekend ???/ only then can you pick the best boat for your enjoyment ! good luck and be safe out there ,,

Mostly offshore in Fla. Near Tampa and also Ft. Lauderdale.
Poker runs. weekend excursions.
Gas. no matter.. it will go up to $5.00 per gal. next summer.

If you're trailering and don't have or want to have a dedicated tow vehicle or a dually as a daily driver, stick with under 35'.

It doesn't really matter which of those boats you buy as long as you know what you're getting. If the nicest one on the list has rotten stringers, hidden damage that was poorly patched over or a mostly worn out drivetrain, it will ruin your ownership experience.

Understanding your expectations is important too. Buying a boat and then wanting 15 more MPH can be alot more expensive than just finding the boat you want in the first place.

As far as your list- there's a pretty broad range on there. Your best investment (if you can call it that with a straight face) is a Cig. They typically don't break or rot, they're well-rigged and stylish. They also hold their value better than just about everything else. Best of all, when someone asks, "Is that one of them Cigarette boats?" all you have to say is "Yes". A 35 will tow behind an F250, mash waves that alot of larger boats will bounce off of and go fairly fast without 1200 hp blower motors.

How about the new AT 33' listed in the classifieds for $169,900.

I been in that shoes with the Avanti, Great hull, short on HP, so I was working on getting it faster, then all $hit happened.

I am not a fan of Formula(s), but at $99K, for a 2001 Formula 382, that is a decent deal, if the boat is clean.

That AT has no paint,graphics, and the 496 HO's.
I really want some more horses in a 33'+ boat.
To hard to make the 496's put out more HP, unless you go into the guts. Great motors for what they are designed and used. Not enough for some serious offhore, in deep "V"'s.
Superchargers are risky with the interior set up on the 496.
Smarty.... the boat (Formula 382) has no cuddy, Race set up converted to "poker run" style. It's on my "hot list" but you have to climb over the bolsters to get back to the rear of the the cabbin.
