FeverMike 01-12-2008 10:06 PM

That is about when it started. I joined back in Nov 2000 and something went wrong with my password so I rejoined and left no space between Fever and Mike.

see ya! mIKE

ActiveThunder 01-12-2008 10:07 PM

You figure the other 258 are still a round?

WMF 01-12-2008 10:10 PM

I know I lost my password and user name, I was inactive for a long time I joined in May 2002, uder the name Donzi22zx, but is cant be retrived I was told??

Audiofn 01-12-2008 10:24 PM

It goes back WAY earlier then that. There was I beleive two versions of this board prior to the style that we are all used to now. Look at Cig 1's profile to find out when he joined. He was the first with the new board. Some place there is a link for the old board.

Audiofn 01-12-2008 10:24 PM

If I was to guess I would say it was back about 97-8 or so that it all started.

thisistank 01-12-2008 10:40 PM

Gary is #2 I believe Jeff Cheng is #1....I'm sure some other SCOPE guys (who are no longer here) were in the low #'s as well when Cheng first started this site.

I remember lurking in 98-99 I think...When it was basically a performance boat sales site with a little thing called a "bulletin board" :D

mccaffertee 01-12-2008 10:48 PM

According to this, it was October 1999 - check it out.

I was lurking since 99'. Hell, I guess I still lurk since I only have 500 and some posts since 01'! Actually it seems like I remember at least two major upgrades to the board. I remember losing some of my postcount with one of them.

PremierPOWER 01-13-2008 01:54 AM

we joined back in 02 with the name indyblackhawk then lost the password and rejoined with the current name

Griff 01-13-2008 03:46 AM

I was around on the old board as well. I think I found the site when I was looking for some used parts. Pretty sure it was in the winter of 98-99. You didn't have to register. You just posted your name and a topic or a reply. Then it went to a version where you had to register and then to the way you see it today.

I was member #54 and Charter Member #55.

MnFastBoat 01-13-2008 07:02 AM

Yup, some of us old posters are still around
I come in time to time to see whats up, learn a little, hate a little and just go back to work :)

Biggus 01-13-2008 07:10 AM

The original board was very out of hand. I remember a guy named Mikey that claimed to have a 42 Fountain with triple 900SC's. He was always bragging about kicking everyones azz at LOTO!

bluellama 01-13-2008 07:16 AM

01-22-2001 was the final time I registered, my name used to have a space in it, but a board upgrade required the space drop.
I was here before that after following the Sun Coast Llama wars from the Donzi Registry.

If you take your mouse and move the curser over someones screen name and look in the bottom left of your screen... It will display what the person's user number is!! Mine is 3616, but i lurked for about a year before I signed up.

R Addiction 01-13-2008 07:38 AM

shawn 01-13-2008 09:15 AM

Number 48 and I still burn a lot of time here. Joined when you could use your first name as your identity.

MitchStellin 01-13-2008 09:53 AM

Oct 2000...things went fast...I was DonziMitch and switched because I bought an Active Thunder. I was able to change names and keep my post count. There was a time when I was on this board 24/7, I still look every day, even in the winter when the sled comes out....remember Waterfoul? Mike is a good friend but he has fallen off the face of the earth. I have met many on the board from Boston to LOTO and it has been a great time. It is hard to believe we all stuck together over these years, it shows the power of OSO....it is a disease...not a sickness...but a disease....
#472.....

otis311 01-13-2008 10:08 AM

I think I was #737. I lurked right from the inception of OSO but never registered due to being a little intimidated with the knowledge of the people that were on the board at the time and my lack of computer skills. I missed out on being a charter member thinking it was no big deal at the time seeing that there were only 600-700 of us around at the time

Who knew !!!!!!

Wondered many times what ever happened to Waterfoul??
Last I knew he hooked up with a youngester, again, and then started rebuilding his little fishing boat long ago..

Speaking of Charter membership stickers, who still has them on thier boat???
I do! :cool-smiley-027:

My join date is 10/5/2000. How do I see my member #?

Todd Hartigh 01-13-2008 10:25 AM

Somewhere in the upper sixties for me. (member number)

We used to have OSO parties at Hooters on 28th street in grand rapids, mi. The original board owner would send shirts, stickers, and other goodies to give a way.

Ahhhh...The good ole days!

Well, that's what I originally thought. There was an issue with the database a few years ago and it started saying I was number 69.

He's still around.

I was also a lurker for a few years. At first I was kind of overwhelmed with some of the knowledge on the board. And also, alot of the guys on here knew each other and boated together ever weekend - felt a little uncomfortable posting until I got to know people. ( I wish SOME of the newbies would realize how that works).
I'm not a Charter member by any means, but those stickers were cool.
About a year ago, I saw a guy pulling out of a carryout in a white pick-up with a sticker in his back window, and didn't get a chance to catch up to him and introduce myself.

Hey Steve - How about some stickers for some of us that remember the old days - maybe name and join number??
I'll wear them on my truck and boat.
What do you think?

THEJOKER 01-13-2008 11:00 AM

I lurked in 1999 and joined in 2000. I met some guy's that had a WPM Cat and I told them of my experience's with a West Coast mfg and they said you have to go read what is on this new forum.

Todd Hartigh 01-13-2008 11:21 AM

Dave M,

I think I am #69 but can't remember. I was gonna say that, then saw you were 69.

Who knows?

You are #72. Like Craig said, run the cursor over your name and look at the lower left part of the screen.

Cash Bar 01-13-2008 11:44 AM

I was around 2200 in early 2002. Screen name then was CDaddy. Then I rejoined in late '02 and my number has been 6901 ever since.
