Herbst Gaming faces hurdles

By HOWARD STUTZ REVIEW-JOURNAL

Casino operator and slot machine route manager Herbst Gaming may be forced to file for bankruptcy protection unless the company can reorganize a payment structure for its more than $1.146 billion debt, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Las Vegas-based company said its Southern Nevada operations have been negatively affected by failing economic conditions, a statewide ban on smoking in taverns.

Boy....that $1.1B debt may put a little dent in the weekend fun and toys!!!!

Even if there is a problem the family owns over 300 chevron mini mart gas station in the state of nevada, In having dealt with the herbst brothers in transporting their boats cross country they are always more than fair. You couldn't ask for nicer people to deal with. They have a chevron station right across from the london bridge in havasu that carries 100octane so when you pull into town for desert storm fill your boat up there to help them in there time of need
