http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...3008_1001C.jpg Frank, Don't think for one minute TD would show up to an NJBRC meeting. Remember he has so many family members in law enforcement that he knows he won't have to worry about a speed limit on the water if one was even to be passed. Besides, I think the powerboaters would be much better off without someone like him to be at the meeting to help us with our cause... Just look at how many friends he made here. He made so many enemies in NJ that he had to go to Long Island to make new ones. Maybe we'll get lucky and he will move to Long Island. |

Do you think you are protected of proving your bull by a speed limit? |
Don't Feed The Troll!!!!!!

Now that I am pissed off at this Tripple Crap head for not only being rude, not giving a damn about what goes on in HIS bay or even having the respect to shut his mouth on a thread that Dave is fighting to keep speed limits off the bay. I will have the respect and start a new thread. A Vote To Kick Tripple Digits Off Offshore Only "HE WANTS A WAR HE HAS GOT ONE"
|
Thanks for the kind words everyone! They are greatly appreciated!
As for the NJN Piece, I thought it came out pretty good. It drove home the message that enforcement of current laws is the answer and not another new law that can't and will not be enforced. Come Tuesday I will be contacting Senator Sarlo's office to get together with him face to face (just the two of us) to discuss like our positions openly and honestly. Hopefully when I am done he will understand THE FACTS and we can move on together to get more money for the state police marine division. If not.....the WAR OF THE FACTS will be on!:evilb: |
Think about what this thread was originally started about, and look what it's turned into.
I know I'm one of the more guilty of Hi-Jacking threads, but I try to keep it to the Bilge. This is a pretty serious situation, lives were lost. And now because of that, we are facing legislation to change our freedoms. DaveP is fronting a battle to make sure that doesn't happen due to one person doing something stupid. Applause!!! Now, another stupid person wants to get in the mix for some face time to support his own cause (whatever that is), and get some attention. OK, I'll give it to him. He's got a fast chitbox of a boat. Congrats. Not as fast as he claimed, but fast indeed. Now go away, and lets get back to the important issues at hand. |
More people neeed to vote on the get rid of him thread and send it to the Mods and maybe, just maybe he will go away.
|
I wish we had a Dave P to represent us around here..

There was a dive team out at the scene of the accident again last week. Stay tuned......... |
Three NJ State Police boats were heavily patrolling the entrance/exit to F-Cove late this afternoon. There was also a boat named ORION from Point Pleasant, NJ who's occupants had a bad habit of staring at everyone through binoculars and taking pictures with a large lense camera (in F-Cove). The crackdown has begun!
Keep up the great work, Dave P! Your efforts are appreciated. |
i saw 2 state police boats flying through the metedeconk heading into fcove with lights flashing around 3pm yesterday...does anyone know what that was about??, hope they dont close that place down

IMO, truth be told, the cops need to spend more time in there if it is going to stay open. Way to many underage drinkers and kids on Jet-skis on plane and doing acrobatics in there this year. Used to be a great party spot but went severly downhill this year, again, IMO |
regarding the guy on the jetski doing flips all day...it was cool the first 3000 times he did them...its getting old and just gonna end up with that jetski through the side of someone's boat
|
Is there a link to the news clip?

http://www.f-cove.com/ On Sunday we took a trip from Sandy Hook to Freeport Long Island... The seas were calm and it was 85 degree's... We left about 11:30 and passed maybe 5 boats on the ocean all day long.... |
The kid with the black jet ski that has orange and silver decals needs to take his one trick repertoire to open water before he causes an accident in F-Cove.

The NJ Boat Regulation Commission (BRC) is planned for Wednesday, September 10th at 10:00am. The meeting is being held at:
Martin Bloom Community Pavilion 101 South Huntington Ave Margate, NJ 08402 For directions, visit www.mapquest.com In response to the tragic boating accident that took place on August 3rd on the Metedeconk River there have been renewed calls for speed limits on all inland waterways. BRC Chairman, Roger Brown, has indicated that he plans to propose a speed limit at the next meeting of the BRC. JOIN ME IN PRESENTING THE FACTS!! Please make plans to attend this meeting!! This was a terrible tragedy and the NJPPC extends its deepest sympathies to the families involved. However, the facts from this incident must be ascertained prior to considering any proposal with regard to speed or any other additional boating regulations. The investigation is still underway; no charges have been filed and the facts are still being gathered. Therefore, it is presumptuous to assume that speed was a factor and that a speed limit may have in some way prevented this incident from occurring. The NJPPC is strongly in support of efforts to promote boating safety on the water, education and enhanced enforcement of the current boating laws. Increased law enforcement is the answer - not speed limits! Best Regards, Dave Patnaude President NJ Performance Powerboat Club |
Its now or never folks !!!
I knew it wouldn't take long before Save Barnegat Bay would restart their push for the 30 mph on all NJ Waterways all at times ! I personally cannot get to the meeting but I sent a care package with Dave P that will most likely open some eyes ! ;) After the meeting I will let you all know just what it was that I sent......:ernaehrung004: |
OK!!!!! We have completed the "TRUTH ABOUT BOATING ACCIDENTS AND WHY SPEED LIMITS ARE NOT THE ANSWER TO SAFER BOATING IN NJ!" 36 pages in length!
This is what I am presenting tomorrow morning to the NJ Boat Regulation Commission as well as printing hundreds of copies to share with every State Senator and Assemblyman to spread the FACTS not some half baked idea by an opportunist politician! VISIT www.njppc.com and download your copy! PS...Sharkey thanks for the pics! |
Dave very Impresive
Very well done Best of luck today Marc |
Some good news. 2nd biggest paper in the state just published this editorial today:
http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...6/1029/OPINION A fatal nighttime boating accident in the Metedeconk River in Brick this summer is fueling the arguments of those who believe imposing a speed limit on boaters is needed to improve safety in and around Barnegat Bay. When members of the state Boat Regulation Commission meet today in Margate, they should do what they did the last time the subject was considered: Vote no. New Jersey already has some of the strictest boating laws in the country. The problem isn't lack of rules; it's lack of enforcement. Adding more regulations that would serve only to further restrict responsible boaters in both the commercial and pleasure boating communities would be a mistake. The focus should be on improving boating education and finding ways to improve self-policing efforts. In the wake of the tragic death of Robert Post of Essex Fells, whose 17-foot Boston whaler was struck by a speedboat at 1 a.m. Aug. 3, the environmental group Save Barnegat Bay has renewed its call for a speed limit of 30 or 35 mph in the bay. And state Sen. Paul A. Sario, D-Bergen, plans to introduce legislation calling for a nighttime speed limit as low as 10 mph in state waters. Boaters who ignore existing boating safety laws aren't likely to act any more responsibly if speed limits are enacted. What's needed are increased resources for the state marine police, a commitment by law-abiding boaters to report those who disregard the laws and a renewed emphasis on boating education. It makes no sense to impose restrictions on the many for the mistakes of the very few — especially when existing laws are not being adequately enforced. Dave, it sounds as if some folks are starting to listen. Let's hope it's the right folks......great job. Keep giving them hell. |
Excellent ! Good Luck today Dave !
