Geez I wish people would switch to Vimeo or something a little newer. The constant buffering and crap Comcast gives me, not to mention Flash.

Basal skull fracture, same thing that killed Dale Earnhart.

Any idea how fast they were running in that video?

ApachePete owned and raced Allez Vite when that video was taken.........maybe he will chime in and tell us? Another question....what was the performance difference between the C&G 850's and the Merc 1000's? I believe Allez Vite could eclipse 100 mph. It was also one of the first offshore powerboats to employ the K Drive (possibly WarHawk was first) which later became Mercury Racing's VISSM. Impressive powerboat, then & now!

51 Outerlimits is the best v bottom rough water boat I've ever owned or been in. Very impressive to say the least!

Let us all in on it what your claiming. Show the video of it running 6' to 8' plus seas. Love to see it. Don't forget the build quality of an Apache Powerboat!

sean stinson 07-06-2011 07:41 AM

Let me think......seeing as how I have seat time in most if not all of them I think I am qualified to at least offer an opinion......if I was going to build a new boat for myself for my personal use I would find one of the original Apaches and redo it to my liking!!!!!

sean stinson 07-06-2011 07:48 AM

Pantera is also bred from the rough water racing circuit as well and has eat up the big water!!!!

For boats under 50' I would says the 47Apache. For boats 50'-100' I think it would be the Nor-Tech 80 yacht. Over 100' I would vote for the 124' Ermis2. All those boats run over 60knots.

I think this thread was more of a rhetorical question, everybody know's it's a Fountain! :food-smiley-007:

What do you guys that know about such things think about the Coyotes/Sonics? Are these essentially cigarettes? I now own the PUTT PUTT resin rocket. Doing a rebuild after some bad electronic ju-ju.

There's no question as to the reputation of Apache's in the big, love the Skater's but I am kinda keen to see how the 426 Skater V/Cummins fairs out running the Bermuda challenge. I know not expect any vid's like Razz running the rough out of this boat but 20 hours running the ocean in a sit down is a testiment to how the hull handles....To take the challenge title back, the boat has to survive and I assume the operators would like to get out of the boat unassisted - would take a good hull and favourable seas.

For fun in the nasty under 40' - old school 36 Widebody Cig

kreed 10-24-2012 09:27 AM

Now that this thread is back up.....Its pretty well know how a 41 Apache handles the rough, but I would be curious to see which boat you guys think handles the rough better: A 36 Apache or a Flat bottom 38 Top Gun? Anyone ever ridden in both boats?
