the one i have has the adapter and a cup, similar to what Will has, pour in 4 oz start the motor, let it get some heat in it, turn the switch, run it till it is clear and then run on rinse for a couple more mins and walah...done, maybe 5-7 mins max.

When salt is introduced to areas where aluminum and steel are in direct contact a chemical reaction will occur and the aluminum will lose. I have seen holes created in aluminum heads where you could place a silver dollar in just a few months.

Salt Away and dawn mostly encapsulates salt and prevents oxidiation. Extra rinsing is always good.

Not sure. It runs fine. Plan to upgrade heads (so they match) this winter.
Once everything is done, I'll have new-100% motors - again.

Panther - thanks for the article. Looks like that is how Cigarette wires their boats. So yes, it is bonded.

I've been using salt away for several years and swear it works. I usually carry a cheap garden pump sprayer and blast the trailer after the boat has been dunked and repeat that once the boat is back on the trailer before the salt dries. I also do the same in the winter for the road salt on the vehicles. Unlike cyuric acid this stuff does not seem caustic in any way shape or form.

I have been using Salt-A-Way for 10 years on my boats, fishing gear and inside the boat itself. I have never had a problem with Salt-A-Way.
When I sold my 2000 29 Fountain with over 250 hrs on it the guy that bought it took the engine apart and said it looked new inside. I flushed with Salt A Way at almost every flush and I flush for around 15 min.
I always found that with Salt A Ways soapy nature it lubed the impeller and I would always check the impellor at each 20-30 hour oil change on my HP500 and it never looked like it needed changing.
