Any advice on preventing boat theft when docked at hotel overnight?

I did it for years, and I want to tell you... you won't sleep as well. But it should be fine. But I used to dream that it sank.
It didn't. In your situation, you will probably be paranoid. If trailer is possible you may get a better night's sleep. Could be worth a re-launch. But I am doing psychology now. It will be fine.

If you really worried,, take a few randon visits to the boat. If you are getting paranoid about it, tie it off under the waterline, may be by the outdrive to the trim pins on front. Right undr the merchatode if it's a merc)

Hey guys thanks for the replies, I'm having a good laugh. Maybe I'll just overshoot the shore and beach it then claim drunken stupor. 
I probably am a little paranoid. It's not my classmates I'm worried about and it's not a bragging boat, just a nice family cruiser, and I would be surprised if others don't show up with better stuff.
I was reading a local fishing forum and during the last month there has been plenty of discussion of gas and gear being stolen from the boats parked all around the lake, Lake Conroe in Texas. So that's what has me worried.

If your room is facing the water, go to Radio Shack and get "The Reporter". It's a infrared wireless security alarm. Put the sensor in your boat cockpit, and the receiver in your room. It transmits several hundred feet easily (I've tested it to a couple of city blocks). If someone gets in your boat, it will trigger a loud buzzer in your room, which will easily wake you up to investigate. I think it is about $60.

After having my Avalanche broken into I slept in my boat when I parked it at my condo one night, well that might have been also because I had my new motor in the back of the truck waiting to take it to the shop in the early AM....
