Boot, I have no idea about HP. Never dyno'd the motors. The boat is a 1990 Cafe Racer, and the best I ever saw was 69.7mph on radar. The new blowers are still being installed (had to cut the hatch).

For anyone that needs blower dimensions I would recommend going to Holley's web site. They have it online.

I'm running a '97 454 Mag with a B&M/Holley 174, Nikerson Holly, SS crossover, and Gil Exhaust. I can hit 74 on a cold day (94 Shooter 4400lbs dry). I turn a labbed 26 Bravo which I think is slightly over propped, but my cruise is great. Also my K-planes aremounted a little low - fix this in the sping. My boost gauge is at 4lbs. right now. I was thinking about bumping the pully up so I get 5-6lbs. Any risk in a non-intercooled setup? It runs really rliable now. I also use a Tbolt IV distributer with 24 degs - pretty mellow IMO. The builder said that there "was more in the timing". I posted this before but did not get much response. I see here alot of you run similar. Picture before the crossover and pump removal it dyno'd at 525hp.

Wow , Lots of good info flying around here ! And the pictures are great ! Thanks .

Hotbeek, Which cross over and restrictor did you use ? Did you have to experiment with different sizes to get temp right ?

US1 fountain , Thanks ,do you have a speed comparison from stock to blown ? Did you have to cut hatch ?

Thanks Cignificant !

Shooter ,nice shot . Who dynoed your motor ? What do they get to do it ?

I bought my stainless crossover from Chief Engines. I'm not sure of the make ? It has the t-stat bypass. The restrictors I bought at Jegs.(part#925-8229 $5.99) You get three discs.(5/8",3/4",1") I used the 5/8" disc. Before I used the disc I ran a t-stat with holes drilled for additional cooling. After a hard run at max boost my temps would be over 200*. After I installed the disc my temps dropped to 175* after a hard run and 140* at idle.

If you have any questions about parts or numbers give Tommy at Chief Engines a call or email. His prices beat many hands down.

boot,
Preblower speed is around 71 depending on prop. With blower have seen best of 83, but still can squeeze a couple more mph as I still need a bigger prop. I have at least 2" clearance under the hatch, so no mods needed there. My only clearance issue was the blower pulley. I don't think that will be an issue for the 38 thou.
