got out for a bit saturday all by myself...hooked up with a buddy and tried wake boarding...sucked at it...then tried skis, sucked at that too...i think i'll stick to being behind the wheel instead of on the end of a rope.

Funny thing is I almost got lost one time for deep bay, and I got lost coming back from burton looking for the bridge... reason? this boat runs so slow (roughly 25 to 28 mph at 3600-4000 rpm) that I lost the kind of momentum I had in the other boat, like if you see this bay, 5 minutes later it is this island, or this beach or whatever else... so I was driving waiting for the next spot to come I rely on to know where I am, and then I would doubt if it was the one or not, because it felt so long... different type of problem than GLH would have at 100 plus mph! But honestly I could not find the kind of rythm I was used to at 40-50 mph... I'm not a good captain for sure! Some good south wind today but not that bad, 3 to 4 foot waves... funny how a cruiser slows down when plowing thru the big waves instead of our go fast wich more likely bang on the wave or walk above instead of plowing... next time on the lake should be with the 35-7, can't tell when... Anyone knows who owns this boat? |

Yes you should be fine now. They just dont like the beaching, but it has mostly been resolved. PM VT32SSR for all the details, he went to the meetings.

Tom, thanks for the "gas-burnin'" run around the bay last night....as nice as I thought! EVERYONE.....Tom mentioned maybe taking a run down to Crown Point bridge this weekend to break-up the two nice days....looking at Saturday. It would be nice to get a squadron of rigs.....think about it!!!:boat:

I found out one thing tonight. It's a bit scary when someone is standing near center cockpit, facing starboard/stern, talking to a passenger, while heading right for me:eek: Lights were on at twilight, doing about 15 mph. Thankfully, the little Sea Doo boat to his port side turned on his lights and saw me.
Tough move. I could have turned hard port and gunned it to reverse direction. I made the wrong assumption that the captain was looking ahead. Good thing, he might have seen a close call. I don't think he moved off course all the way to the cut, and didn't turn around either. I need a beer. |

A nice day today. Headed south with the Vt crew (Dave, Chris and myself representing the NY contingent) to the mouth of the Bouquet River and then on to the Old Dock for dinner. Met Chad and Amanda at the launch before we headed south. They had their new Checkmate (a bunch of Checkmates lately...must be breeding somewhere)!! Welcome to the crew and hope to see you tomorrow at Treadwell. A bunch of pic's ahead so enjoy!!:ernaehrung004::flag:

The crew will be at Treadwell Sunday unless the wind blows hard out of the S/SE (doesn't look like that will happen). Looks like they had a nice raft at Treadwell today according to Robin. Should have a nice big raft and volleyball tomorrow!!:circle::party-smiley-048::boat::party-smiley-020:

We hooked up with Chris and Chicken at Cole Island south of Westport and spent the night at the bottom of the lake at Chipmans point Marina just north of Orwell, about 20 miles South of the bridge.
It was hot as everything last night so thank god for the AC set at 68! We are heading back up this morning with annouced 10 to15 knots wind from the south we will more than likely end up at Thayer Beach. |
Saw "The Dealer" doing a drop-off at the launch while we were pulling out. The updated open water as of 0645 this morning is winds S 5-10, waves 1ft or less.
