My 43 Nor-tech weight is more than Jays new boat and the boat hit 74.6. This is not a hi tech bottom either with multiple steps..The same set up in Adib Mastry's 39 Nor-Tech boat..(owner of Yanmar in Sarasota)...did 80 gps and I believe high 81's on radar. My deal is.. if it aint broke..leave it the heck alone.. heres a video of that Yanmar boat..click the silver boat w/red strip..39 11,000. Nor-Tech

Love the colors and great mold work on the deck. That setup needs at least two speed transmissions. Time to plane of 8.9sec is really poor.

blacklabmarine,

You might want to take a look at what this company is doing. I am assuming that this is the type of boat you would be building.

http://www.dockstavarvet.se

Their Combat Boat 90 H is used in the youtube video of German cops chasing greenpeace at a G8 summit. If this is along the lines of what you are trying to do pay particular attention to their numbers. With 1,600 hp and waterjet drives they are getting 50mph. This boat is longer than what you propose by 6 feet and probably has a little more beam.

They also have the Interceptor Craft 11 M which is about 5' shorter than what you are trying to do, but right in the weight range you mentioned (assuming they are actually using tons and not tonnes for weight measurement). With 1,000 hp and waterjets they aren't even breaking 50mph.

Working from the numbers on these boats I think you may need 2,000+ hp to get to the speeds you want, especially in a fully loaded boat.

Not at all bro....I got those pics 3-4 years ago when they were testing the duramax motor for marine use. Never heard what the outcome was or where the boat ended up.

I'm still curious too.
