So is your rev limiter at 6400? What is the stock rev limit for the 600sci?

So what is your rev limiter set at now? Just curious as to anything over 6000 going thru an SCX.

Here is a picture of my motor all fresh from the Whipple compound.

960 hp closed cooled and runs great!

It has been awhile, and I just wanted to keep you all updated on my motor/boat progress.

I put this motor into my boat, and it was definately fast...100.2 mph was my best pass, with 97-99 mph being typical.

I had to do some setup work with the boat in order to get it to handle the additional power, and ended up going to a 1" shortie with 1.34 gears...It now handles like it is on rails.

During this process of getting the boat to work, I was talking to Dustin quite a bit, and expressed to him, that I just was hoping the boat would be a little faster...my original goal has always been to have a consistantly over 100 mph boat.

Dustin has always assumed, that when it came time for these 600sci/662sci/700sci motors to be rebuilt, alot of the owners would opt to put in a 1/4 inch stroker crank at time of rebuild to increase displacement to 540 cu/in. He wanted to be ready for this eventuallity, and sugessted that I bring my motor down so that he could have a kit ready.

To that end... he started on what we dubbed...Stage X... the final stage of upgrade for the 600sci/662sci & 700sci engines.

We setteled on a Callies stroker crank, and custom JE pistons, in order to raise the compression to 8.2.
Original compression was 7.3 due to the re-shaped cumbustion chambers in the ported heads.

We also decided to put on a KE oil cooler in order to keep oil temps down.

I will keep you updated on the progress.

I decided that it was time to go to go with raw water cooling, because I am concerned that the heat exchanger will not keep up with the projected 1050 horsepower. To this end, Dustin fabricated adapters for the front of the heads to feed the headers, and a setup that will keep the stock serpentine belt.
