Default 99 MPH Formula 353

Went to dinner by boat tonight with Dave "Vagrant Twins". Got to the resturant and there was a beautiful 353 there. Started talking with this guy and discovered it was not just a stock boat.

He had 500 EFI's with Whipple blowers, IMCO extension boxes and Imco drives. Boost set at 6 PSI and 32 pitch labbed props.

He claims to know Art Whipple personally. He put the blowers on the boat new, blew one drive and replaced it, then hit the rev limiter and blew a head gasket. Changed to IMCO outdrives and had the ECU reprogramed to 6000 RPM for the rev limiters and now has 230 hours on the engines. Claims it runs 99MPG on the GPS. Has not been able to hit the triple digit mark. It was a very nice looking setup.

Love the way those Whipples look.

Mark

Hey Fred,

Going up to Baja on May 6th. The boat should be nearing completion by then. If all goes as promised we should have it on the water around the third week of May.

Those Whipples really looked nice, but with the drive issues and other possible problems, I think I am going to stay stock. Just getting TOO OLD. LOL

When are you going to get the Sonic on the water and come up to Norman?

Puder,

He told me that Art is Dustin's father that started the business.

Maybe someone else can confirm this.

I would be doing everything I could to get that 1mph. 100 sounds so much better than 99.

Art is Dustin's Father. For the "hum" file, there is a Whipple that was a signer to the Declaration of Independence, quite distantly related to Art and Dustin.

Now, that won't make your boat go any fater, just, as I said, for the "hum" file
