Thanks Steve
I actually understood a little bit of that! LOL!

Steve,

I don't imagine the 19 your boys are building will look like this one. It was a Morelli and Melvin 19' design we built with core cel and epoxy/glass skins in maybe 1995?? The owner changed boats often, but he told me he will never sell this one. He had another builder 5 years later build a smaller one with verticle tunnel walls and it threw him out of the boat in a turn the first time he tried it.

All the early cats had symetrical hulls, but you see the off shore boats now with asymmetric hulls. How come?

It is easer for us to "dry" the hull up so to speak and make the wetted surface Exactly where we want it ,, The 19 ? built a 15' prototype in 98 or so when I was in the ME , Had to use balsa strips over the Jig which added to the weight , To make a long story short with @65 Hp , 4 big guys in that boat it ran upper 60's and was climbing with a prop that could have been a lot better in Hot Water and Air , Here 75+ No Problem , The Arabs called it the flying Carpet , 7'-6" x 15' .
