One day at launch while hanging fenders and lines on Cigrocket's 35 Mistress a couple who obviously hugged trees as a hobby asked how we could afford to own and run such a boat.
I told them straight faced we are drug dealers.
They seemed completely content with that answer as if I had confirmed their suspicions as they munched on their trail mix.
I have met quite a few pharmaceutical reps who boat.....they are the "legit" drug dealers.

So I said "well then you should kow better!"
Then she says so what do you do for a living to afford such an extravagant boat?
I told her straight faced as hell "I sell CRACK!"
As she sped away in her whaler, the woman standing behind me on the dock burst out laughing and said "that was such a SWEET answer."
My wife wasnt amused

...oh, and the funny part is the police still perpetuate that stereotype. Kenny C. who owns the all black donzi from the recent Miami Vice movie gets pulled over and searched all the time....even when he is just towing the boat!! Police said the boat looked like it was leaning one way on the trailer, meaning it had "something" in it causing it to do that....
Anyone else ever been "suspected" by the police in the same way?

I had a woman who couldnt wait for me to move , at the Old saybrook dock almost hit my boat with her whaler, After I told her to be careful she told me this was her small boat she owned a cabin cruiser. (snotty as hell)
So I said "well then you should kow better!"

Actually I have the exact opposite problem. People think I am the police.
Was on some water last year in Fla. for first time and wasnt sure where my destination was. Passed a boat going the other way. Spun around and caught up to him to ask directions.
He went to hand us his paperwork. It was funny.
