Thanks man. It is really crazy..it has ball bearing drawers and has one big drawer that the tank goes in. It is built to the same quality that the tool boxes are. I need to buy some more cooking utinsils so my drawers are not so empty in the grill. I have one utinsil in every drawer to make it look like I have something. It also has a rotissery.

Here is a shot of my roll cab with the top locker that I have all of my manuals in. I went with a smaller locker so that I would still have some workspace. It has worked out really well. The 30" deep box is the bomb.

In the last 30 years of twisting hand tools I have never used a roller bearing drawer to loosin a single thing lol.

the craftsmen box holds them snap on tools just fine

I would rather put the extra cash in the part that saves my knuckles.....2c

truckwrench1 01-22-2011 06:52 PM

after turning wrences for the past 13 years for a living my thoughts on tool choices has changed over the years at first it was all name brand and got to meet ( MANY ) new tool men. now i find myself always thinking how hard is it going to be to get the tool warrantied. tool trucks stop coming buy if you dont continuously buy from them. i have latly been buying the gearwrench ( kd ) brand and otc as gearwrench has expanded into other areas than just the original gearwrench ( wow how did i live without those awsome gearwrenches ) there quality and price are awsome and can be replaced at any napa, car quest, or bumper to bumper in days rather than weeks waiting on the next tool man to show up and order it in! just my 2 cents tho

lightning jet 01-22-2011 07:01 PM

Yep I have a full set of gear wrench open end box end and I agree how did we get by without them............shortys long and metric

truckwrench1 01-22-2011 07:06 PM

just bought there 44 piece extra long standard and metric combo wrench set they are a standard open and boxed end wrench and are absolutly great on sale thru local tool guy for 375 thats 1/4 to 1 1/2 and 8 to 34 mm price that from the big 4 snappy, mac, matco, or cornwell and see where you end up im guessing north of 2,000:eek:

For some people fine, but I would need 4 of crapsmans biggest boxes to hold my tools. Another plus with the box I have now top left big drawer is all sockets right under that all air & batt. tools then on the right bank I have 3 big drawers that are all pliers, then screwdrivers then wrenches. So for most of what I need no more bending over all the time. My last box I had to use more than one drawer for the same type tool and all those aside from the screwdrivers are so packed and heavy I wouldn't want a non roller drawer. I had the crapsman pro box at home and got it mid 90's, I got my krl 1000 work box in 91, it's now my home box because the crapsman was falling apart, now I can blame my kids for a lot of that but still they don't hold up near as well.

I have no kids so that helps a lot for longevity and on that note I still have and charish my dads 3/8th fine tooth rachet (craftsmen) it still works great but I only use it on rare occasion.

I would love to bye a big a$$ box to put my tool in but I'll stick with the tight little one I married twenty years ago lol :coolcowboy:

Did you get the pictures I sent you? I got a bad azz picture of your boat framed from the shootout. I hung it right behind my OL in the shop.

That's a nice very nice offer. When I was a Snap On dealer there was ZERO profit handling broken tools.

There is always a snap on truck around, and you should buy your tools from the guy that serv..tuff works for the most part, and it has its place for my purposes as a tool of use vs a tool of choice.

Uncle Dave

Have to agree on the Facom stuff. I have a bunch of their tools, and from time to time will go out of my way to buy some more. Who'd of thought the french were good for much beyond wine, huh? :D

They're not French anymore. They were bought by S-K, who was later bought by Stanley (Stanley owns\makes MAC). SK is now independent due to a management buy out after the Stanley takeover. Come to think of it, I have a nice S-K 3/8" rachet that's great.

I have some Craftsmen in my box, but would never touch their rachets. Every one I've ever used kind of sucked.

Yea I have 2 boys that like to tinker, I have been with my wife for 21 years but I started working on cars at 16 for a living. Go to school half day then work and on weekends so when I lived at home with no bills I was a tool junkie, I owed over 50k when I was 18, then by 30 no tool dept just picked up new cool stuff when it came out. Then in 07 I got my new box and traded the home box in and brought the work one home. The boxes MSRP was 14k ish but got it for 10k even, did it on Snap-on credit to get the "free" tools then put it on a 0 intrest card for 36 months and just paid it off. I wont ever need to buy another box the rest of my life unless I add a part to mine but I like having a 12+ foot work bench with all my tools in it. Since I work on bikes you don't trash the box by working on it like you would with cars.

For Craftsman, the smooth/polished rachets are their best: http://cgi.ebay.com/Craftsman-New-1-...item3caac17460

I have a set and will search the box to find them over the regular rachets.

I gave up on trying to buy pics from the local guy up there. I bought nearly all of mine from Naples Image "Jayboat" including that one of your boat.

I am selling a bunch off tools for a friend of the shop that lost his shop over a colonoscopy gone bad. He went in for a crapper test and the tube in his arm came out of the vein and filled his arm with the knock out juice. This damaged the nerves in his arm so bad he can not work anymore. In the mean time he is going broke while in litigation.
I listed some today in my Ebay store seller 3baja2 and will try to list about 10 items a day. These are some great tools and most are in new never used condition. Mostly Snap On, Mac and Matco items.

Gotta say, my opinion of Snap-on was always that they were the best, however, I ordered a 3/8" drive HD Torz bit online late last summer, they sent the wrong tool (wrong drive/allen head etc). It took me 4 months and a dozen phone calls to get my money back. Now, I couldn't care how good their tools are. They're useless if they don't give you what you order. I think they are a bunch of azztards! Will never order from them again! Just my 2 cents.
