I just got a pair of these in black, & they are some really comfortable shoes. The soles on the style I got don't pick up rocks, etc, & the type of rubber they use has a lot of grip. They have several different styles & colors.

I actually saw a 42 OL at the factory a couple days ago with 3M protective coatings around the bumper area, and the walking area along the stern. It was barley noticeable. Not sure how feasible the idea is for you, but maybe a straight piece of 3M going to each bumper on the deck.
