My windscreen is painted white to match the boat and i have fountain written across the front of it, i also have the clear lip on the top of it. personally if i ordered this boat brand new from the factory i wouldnt have changed a thing. thank you but i am very happy with my purchase.

That's cool man, sounds like you like your boat. I just figured you liked to haul ass since you posted a thread asking about the fastest single.....lmao

Thats the way it should be. There is always somebody, bigger, faster, more expensive, whatever. As long as you love what you have, thats the best place to be. Ill keep an eye out for you this summer since I live right in the area you haunt. There is water south of the bridge to, you know???? Just kidding.

Good point. I forgot about the built in swim platform on the stern. Theoretically, it will act as a trim tab when you stand it high enough on the transom.

Speaking of scary Fountains, I drove the first 24 CS we got in with a 502. Got downright stupid at about 74 MPH. Let's see, 24' minus 2' beak and 2' platform. That would make it, oh my! There's a guy not far from here with one of them with a Procharged 502 in it. That takes balls that clank to drive. Rumor is, upper 90's.

That's surprising to me, they sure seem like a lot more boat than I have

Smarty 04-27-2011 05:36 PM

You'll find people to race, and I ever get to Barnegat Bay this summer and see you I will give you a shot, that what makes boating fun for me.

600hp = 78 to 82 mph, maybe 85 if you leave everything including enough gas to get back, on the beach :drink:

Nice.... boy, he got there in a hurry too. What kinda HP, Drive, Prop etc?

Dan Adams 04-27-2011 06:00 PM

785 hp NA no juice. Bravo XR, Stellings box, 385 tabs

That thing is a handful. Hasn't rolled it but it took a severe hook once, cant remember the exact story, he and his girl went to the hospital she had minor head injurys, he had broken ribs, I think he flew out of the boat and took the throttle stick along with him.

He still runs the boat.

Jim V. builds cylinder heads for a living.

I'll give you a run come to the Blackjack Poker Run I had a great time last year with my Powerplay. I just had my motors built this winter from Jc Performance. I want to see what a 28 Powerplay will run with 900 hp

Gladhe8er 04-27-2011 06:07 PM

I knew this thread would take off as soon as I saw it.

I would take 3 feet off total length for a Fountain, not 4. So a 27 ft Fountain is realy a 24 foot running surface boat.

Jim V. was competing in Lake MI offshore powerboat racing in the 80s. He has a lot of experience. Be careful, get some big tabs on the back.

ita1iansta11ion1 04-27-2011 06:17 PM

900+ hp NA no juice. Bravo XR, Stellings box, 385 tabs

video shows 98+ mph with 785hp.

Where are you going to keep it? Are you docking it or trailering it? My picture is in Brick 2 miles from drumpoint marina. If you are more interested in kicking back an relaxing you may want to check out tices south on the bay by forked river.

Unless there is a side of you I do not know about tices may be a better fit!

Bill

(hope the name helps you figure out who I am):coolcowboy:

ReggieRaft 04-27-2011 09:10 PM

Have a slip at drumpoint marina, but will use proroc for in and out service. I have used my jet skis to explore and i know forked river and tices. Plus do the njppc events.

X2

I have been running with them for 11 years now. Greatest club in the world! I started with a 22' Donzi and always felt welcome. There is zero tolerance for lack of safety and not following rules. Run what ya brung, have fun, drive within your limits and the limits of the boat, then tie up the boats for the day and party like rock stars.

Have fun and see you out there this summer.

Whooooo....Too Stroked & Baja555
I'm just an "old" country boy, but I have been to N.J. and I've never seen any boat, wether it's an 18' or 50' Bajahaha, Kryptonite, Progression, Fountain or whatever in N.J., Ok, Texas or Canada that has the whole footage in the water at any time. Much less when it's WOT in which case I wouldn't want my whole boat in the water and I doubt that you would either. Just my 2 cents.

F1-00 Racing 04-28-2011 02:25 PM

Per APBA measurements a 29 Fountain has a running surface of 26' 10".

Good luck Stallion!! More importantly be safe and yes a set of 380's mounted level will only help you.

My 29 with a stock sealed 500EFI will do 92.7 so you should be able to have a lot of fun.

jvcobra 04-28-2011 03:14 PM

I run in that area hope to see you out there.

McGary911 04-28-2011 03:53 PM

if the other boat says Jet Set on the side, put your wallet away :)

Hope it gets done on time, and runs great. Have a safe summer.

just saw that vid..mighty mouse kicks ass!!!

Come on down to the bay, I might know a couple boats that you could have some fun with....:drink:

As mentioned before....avoid a whippled 24 Progression...and Larry can run that thang!

I agree that no boat has a running surface equal to its length - no matter how you measure it. However, no manufacturer measures "wetted running surface at top speed" either. If that were the case, my 22' Progression would be about 2' long - because that's all that's in the water at speed.

Many boats are however much shorter than a classic flat transom (no molded in platform) hull measured the old way. The Fountain "beak" is one commonly complained about example - but it's at the bow. Molded in swim platforms - except for certain Four Winns models - add nothing to the running surface at the stern - where it matters most.

Ah, you've seen him too! Yes, it does run awful quick - through just about anything. And guess who owns his old boat? (Which runs a bit faster than when he ran it.)
