exhaust bolts:

I don't know if you can do this, but on severely mauled exhaust bolt heads I've hammered then welded a grade 8 nut onto the bolt head. This gets the bolt good and hot, too.

I have also welded cheapo box end wrenches onto bolt heads. Once it breaks loose, use the cutoff disc or Mr. sawzall to remove the remains of the wrench.

Motor mounts:

If you can get the dremel to one side of the nut you could also grind through to the bolt.

Good luck, you will prevail. I think the hardware now knows the Apache tribe is ready to kick ass.

Yeah have the boat with me today and towing it at lunch time to Ike's shop in Paoli (about 20-30 min from here)

See what Ike can do , too bad his Apache is not there for me to drool all over
But he did say he has a mound of pics I can look through though.

Hopefully this will come out no problems, yank the second engine, drop it off at the machine shop, and then it is cleaning time
Going to clean out the bilge big time
more sludge in there than a auto junk yards oil disposal conatiner.

Then get paint for the bilge, paint it all up, accent paint all the accessories, rerig all the wiring and sleeve it,
Boom done
(yeah right!)
Ike, see ya soon

That's the spirit Jay! Get mean with it. My dad, who taught diesel mechanics in the Navy, always told me I just gotta be tougher than the damn bolt is!

Status report on the baja, engine is out and manifold is off. I have done alot of boat engines and have never had the rear mounts that tight . First we tried a mac 1/2" impact gun and did'nt move, then we got out the big dog IR 3/4" impact gun and the first bolt came out but the other did not even move a hair so then we got a 3/4" breaker bar with my floor jack handle and me and eric both had to work it back and forth until we could use the 3/4" gun again. Jason thanks for the kind words and she is ready to go.

ps. That is going to be a nice boat when you get it done.
