Oil change special: $31.99 at AutoZone through August something or another.

5 Quarts and a M1 Filter. I would not use their filters on the boat, but I grabbed 3 filters for my demo derby cars.

I've run into the same problem. Called Wal-mart and spoke to corporate 2 months ago......still waiting for their follow-up response.

Guess we are screwed?

Amazon -- Mobil 1 94002 Synthetic 15W-50 Motor Oil - 1 Quart, Pack of 6 - $51.15, no sales tax and free shipping.
At times, through Mobil, they run rebate's that makes it very hard to beat.

Napa also runs mobil 1 on sale, usually 5.50 a quart. 2 to 3 times a year.

Why not use the filters?? They are actually very good and use a synthetic filter media that will not be affected any moisture.

I rather the Wix Racing or Gold filter from Napa.

Wink Be Careful about the WalMart Syndrome?

You guys might want to be careful just buying your synthetic oil just based on price alone and just using standard current Mobile one synthetic. The standard Mobil 1 synthetic is a automotive emissions based oil and does not have any good zinc based anti-wear packages blended in the oil for the heavy duty use the standard marine performance engines need. As for Mobil 1 a good choice would be the Mobil 1 V-twin 20-50W which has a much better wear package in the blend. there are also other good synthetics out there such as Amsoil, etc., that have good blends for marine performance use so try not to be to "penny wise and dollar foolish" in your oil purchasing and use. Just a suggestion.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

Is it true that you need to use a Zinc based oil for hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters but not hydraulic roller cam and lifters? Or should we be using a Zinc based oil for every HP marine application?
