Keep it in the USA.....someone needs to top that Kanuck tomorrow. And I hope its a piston powered boat... No...the problem with Turbine boats is that they are gay.

With comments like these that really pisses me off cause yall will never be there in life. I know know Bill T. personaly. He is more of a man than most will ever be. Bill T. has yes paid his dues and worked his butt off to get to where he is today. So if he wants to spend his money on toys that most can't afford, then more power to him. He's a man that can have you for a snack then spits you out and keeps on going. He knows what he wants in life and gets it too. So before you make comments and snide remarks, take a deep look at your self and think before you open your mouth.

I always like to watch the big guns in the piston boats but the MY Way's guys really put on a show... To make as many passes down the course as they did this weekend it was amazing...

Congrats on the 208 and hope you come back down next year to put a bigger number on the board... :Score-101010:

Hopefully they can come up with a better timing system that doesn't miss any of the runs. It's always been somewhat of an issue over the years with runs not getting recorded... The two passes looked that were missed looked like they were extremely fast runs...

boating37 08-29-2011 03:51 PM

Some thing sounds a little funny if the only 2 runs that did not get a reading were on this boat "My Way" .

So are you implying that the organizres sabotaged the event? Callan and David Scott, both Mistics as well, dealt with the same issues. It's difficult to get a radar reading from a sleek boat running those speeds. The organizers have nothing to gain by playing games with the radar.

KiloKat 08-29-2011 08:05 PM

Congratulations to the entire My Way team! An awesome boat to say the least. Talked with them during the event and was as excited as anyone else while watching each of their passes.

The radar issue is a serious problem. It is one of the two primary reasons I did not run this year.

Last year JT and I had a 30mph start - gps read 218 and radar gave us 208. This year My Way got a 40mph start - gps read 221 and radar gave them a 208.

There is far too much money & danger involved to run these kind of speeds only have to worry about radar accuracy issues when competing.

PokerRun388 08-29-2011 08:12 PM

50 Mystic- My Way

I think all of us agree that My Way is way faster than 208mph

The radar guns were not right, and its a shame, 2 runs the gun didn't even register an mph.... What a let down for the crew and everyone involved with the 50 .....

I watched everyone of My Way's runs, and that 50 Mystic is on rails and runs so smooth at 200mph +... It never moves, slides, or anything... Its a perfect machine!!

Congrats My Way !!

Thank you for that perspective on the radar, that clears up a lot of the rumor mill stuff and misunderstanding on how things really work.

You need to lighten up and drink a Labatts and sing Oh Canada......Jesus. Do your hands hurt from hanging on to his nuts so tight? People like you who cant take a rousing from someone who has an opinion on a subject without trying to give a life lesson are about as much fun as a root canal.

You drive or throttle a boat...then you get a title/recognition. You stand and watch/pay for someone to do it...then you stand in the crowd and cheer like a good little woman...and go make Cosker a sandwich.

Catastrophe 08-29-2011 08:23 PM

I'm guessing the boat was propped to achieve the best results based on the distance preorganized for LOTO.

Based on the results of this weekend and if given all the time and distance needed , is this boat ,if propped differently capabale of 250 ??

No offense but Bill T. has been running close to 200mph in a big cat longer than anyone on this web site. He can run the boat period!

So true!!! Two guys on both ends with stop watches would be better and or atleast help validate the radar. Breaking a light beam would be better but I think you need two stable platforms on both sides of the boat. Great seeing you again Dave!

Not that it is at all the same caliber but we had this issue when I was doing radar runs with my windsurfer. The could not get a read tell I was at about 20 feet from them. I strapped the plate off my car to my leg and all the sudden it worked great. Gave the guy something to aim at. Wonder if there is any way to add a reflective surface like that to the boat?

Very very true. Have known him and followed this pursuit of his for years.
Bill is quite capable of doing all this himself.

So I guess Phenomenon never showed up ???

That would have been the place for their record run. Perhaps still re-engineering the boat ? .....

Not sure LOTO is the place for them to put up big numbers. I think they're going to need more than a mile to but up huge numbers in that beast.

Mystic 08-30-2011 10:51 AM

Thank you to everyone for all of their support at the LOTO Shootout for 2011. We had a great weekend with two new boats out on the lake and were fortunate enough to take the Top Gun trophy for the 7th year in a row with a Mystic.

I have to give a big thanks to Bill Tomlinson for making the long trip down from Canada to participate in the event. Bill did win the Top Gun title driving the boat 201 mph on saturday, to criticize him in any way is ludicrous. If it wasn't for the Bill Tomlinson's, Dave Callan's, and David Scott's of the world there would be no Mystic, none of these 200+ mph boats and no excitement at LOTO. It not only takes their financing but their drive and vision to create these extreme boats. My hat goes off to them as should everyone else's and I will be eternally grateful to them for all their support.

I know I'm a bit biased but the boat is incredible, we saw 221 mph twice in the boat and if there wasn't a bridge in the way I would have loved to see what she could do with just a little more distance. Ken Kehoe deserves a tremendous amount of credit doing a great job on the sticks, fine tuning every run until on the eighth one of the day it was picture perfect.

Thanks again to everyone involved, we are already looking forward to next year and will hopefully be bringing many more Mystic's back to the lake.

Didnt Bill T pioneer the shiftable drive for the Jet engine paving the way for every other Jet powered machine afterward to be operated like a normal boat??

Congrat's to Bill Tomlinson and his boat My Way from CANADA on being the 2011 Loto Shootouts TOP GUN 201 MPH. Also cograt's to everyone that brought their boats to run at LOTO, whether you won or not. Congrat's and thanks to all the sponsors who are also a big part of this event and everyone else I should mention from volunteers to Police Law Enforcement to Fire and Rescue Teams and EMS. This would never happen without everyone's support.

TO: Mystic/John Cosker. Way to go, John. For those of you who don't know JC personally, you have missed a lot. For one guy to set the top level of boating 'on its ear', metaphorically, is am amazing feat. I was lucky to get to do some early development on the cats, and to see the leaps and bounds of John's development is astounding. What is left, John? 300 MPH? I am blown away by all the LOTO speeds. 221 MPH? WOW!

+1 I've known JC for 15 years + (Not as long as you have Brownie) and you won't find a naval designer that is more innovative than him. Plus, he's just a stand-up guy. If he says he will do it, it will get done.:drink:
