There are plenty of these boats sold so most will see other numbers with other engine combos over the next year.
Thank you.

Ambiguity on this thread is REDICULOUS!
so many have taken speed numbers out of context, just cause they have not read the entire thread.
You are a thorough dude, and I do agree with you with completely (and many of your posts on OSO throughout years)

Physics? Do you know what torque steer is? Thats the problem with all big single engine boats..........torque steer. In general, most of the 28ft+ boats with single 500+hp are also plagued with out drive problems on a regular basis.........especially in rough water use......... which may be why OL and merc are rumored to not be getting along. Don't believe me go look at all the big powerd sabers, panteras, activators, etc. Their always fighting drive problems.......which makes for an unreliable boat IMO. I may be entirely wrong seeing that it doesn't appear to be a 29ft boat at all. I'm just throwing out words of caution. This boat could certainly be lightened enough to eliminate drive concerns and maximize speed by going to a bare bones cabin and super light layup, but really, at that point your much better off going with a 28 skater or the like.

I don't have any problem with ya'll drinking the koolaid but I'm not going to be forcefed the utter BS coming out of the three plus threads on this boat just cause it has an OL on the side. I mean chit guys, you act like you never seen a bustle on the stern of a boat before..........OL puts one on a 28 to call it a 29 and you guys run around pretending its a revolutionary design. This boat isn't any more or less revolutionary than the deck design of the failed adrenaline 30 or the steps of the new 38 HyperSonic. Did I hear 90mph with the 525? If so this boat doesn't even match up to a superboat Y2K IMO, the superboat is two feet longer, has a useable cabin, and will run close to the same speeds with a 525, while costing the buyer almost half as much. The 29 warlock will run 100mph with 525 and cost half as much. So whats left? The shiny bezels and chrome? The paint job and colors that makes the entire boat useless in warm climates? Not for $100K over the competition.........
I looked at y2k hulls before buying my saber. the race boat y2k does like 84 with a 525, the 500 was like 80. there were two built now running or had run a potter 800=94 ish, and the MDG 800 konrad boat =94. the potter was built with a 600 mec and ran 87 88 maybe. read superbabies thread. there a great hull with a 7 beam. BOXER went for a ride last week ,in the OL. ERINE'S a die hard SUTPHEN owner, has a 31 single and rebought one of his old 26s. both boats run around a 100. he thought the new 29ol was awesome and will run about 100 plus when dialed in. not sure what the running surface is, but 28ft is close enough and has a 8ft beam ,I think. it is lite and I bet Mike knows the CG of that boat and all of his. wish I had a extra 100,000 when Iwas looking at hulls, lol wonder what a gellner 1100 with a konrad would do, maybe 125ish. good luck with the sale of your boat, always liked them 28s better than the 31 cig.now if I can dial my saber in this summer, I could run with the OL,with my extra500hp

I didn't reply becuase too many are posting w/o knowing the facts.
BTW, the 29extreme ran 82-83 w/ a 496HO. So none of these speeds are THAT out of line.
but with a 6 1/2' or 7ft beam like crazychicken race team, these boats are smaller. and neither 29s phantom or extreme have a cabin. they are fast but, I think the OL is a bigger all around boat and has a cabin. I think a svl needs to be built.

Artie, maybe a bit narrower at 7th beam, but both boats would serve the same purpose... A 5 man sit-down low profile single purpose boat.
Cabin. Are you kidding? It's for holding your gear.
Guy who just spent 200k on this boat, is sleeping in a hotel.
How many guys sleep in thir MTIs and Skaters.

Regardless, the OL has 29 square feet MORE boat than the phantom. Who cares what the cabin is used for, but the pure pleasure of having the option is the nice part. Also, thats a lot of weight in the cabin. So... 29 square feet more boat plus a full cabin, the OL is undoubtedly faster. The real question is how good is it in the rough? And if the OL beats out phantom, activator etc etc... then they have a real winner.

I have a low profile, 5 man, sit down boat and I sleep in my cabin regularly. Dont sit up to fast, but it is actually pretty damn comfortable.

Of course, mine wasnt anywhere close to $200k.

Sleeping on the boat is not just a matter of not being able to afford a hotel room. Modern marinas like the ones at Cedar Point and PIB have first class facilities for boaters including air conditioned showers, stores, restaurants and best of all you get to spend the night with other boaters and enjoy your boat and the rocking and sound of the water. I will sleep on my boat over a hotel room and I don't even have a real cabin!!
