Getting back to the original point of this thread ...

As somebody that used to own, sell and work on Checkmates, I wish them all the best on this one. It's an awesome looking boat and that hull design has lots of potential.

On the flip side, I struggle with their timing. That's a limited market boat at best and despite what Mr. Obama thinks, the economy still stinks. Selling enough of those bad boys to recoup the tooling investment is going to be tough.

Best wishes guys!

I don't think they invested anything in the tooling, except for maybe a few interior pieces; the article states that they were "on loan."

"On the flip side, I struggle with their timing. That's a limited market boat at best....."

It would be cool if they offered a low(er) cost "base" 43' w/ dual 525s, basic gel paint job, and no cabin.

The only thing on loan here is the hull and deck molds, no tooling! Thank you for all of the best wishes. I think if everyone was to wait for the "perfect timing" nothing would ever be a success. Who knows, would we even have a computer to be typing this on if someone would have waited for the "correct timing??" With that being said please call or pm me for info on this Checkmate. Thank you Jupiter, I believe this was a thread about the new CHECKMATE 43 PUNISHER AND NOT A THREAD TO SELL OTHER BRANDS OF BOATS OR DISCUSS THEM HERE, RESPECTFULLY......

So I guess it is OK to go out and find a boat you like and just Splash it! from some of the posting in here, I know things are tight in our business BUT, You STILL play by the accepted rules , Now this mold was Popped off an Apache and a boat has been popped off that, and another ,I am kind of losing track here.

I saw no prototype (which is what I do and a few others) NOW Pantera BOUGHT their Tooling, see a difference?

Agreed
The thread was started to comment on oranges and got sidetracked onto apples.
With regards to the timing I hear you too.

I asked a question a few posts back and got no answer. Since you would know the answer could you address my question one way or another.

I wish anyone with a new venture the best of luck though.
Good for you guys !!!

Steve, I don't know what you are referring to. We made the tooling (stringers, etc.), leased the molds from the rightful owners, etc. I don't know what you are reffering to as a splash in this situation. We did not splash anyones molds or boats.

I do not know who Sunkin is......do not confuse me or Checkmate with anyone who has had past dealings with these molds.

Here is what I do know, we are building this the right way. Doing things the right way as far as business and nobody should confuse me, Checkmate or this project with anything from the past that was an ill faded attempt that never transpired. Once again, I have put my entire life on hold for this and it will be successful. Please keep all of your references pertaining to anything but this particular manufacturer or project where they belong, in another thread not pertaining to this boat or company.

Thank you

WTF!

This is an open forum. Anyone can post whatever they want.

Just because you started the thread doesn't mean that you own it, or can control it.

Not trying to own or control the thread by any means, just a lot of negativity on here that does not pertain to me, Checkmate or this project.
