when i ran the imco cap style i always had sticks and debris stuck in the inlet, on the simrek i have now they have dividers in the intake portion so anything that gets through that opening will flow out without clogging, has not clogged up yet

I never had a problem before, the run we both did was like running in liquid sawdust. it was right after a hurricane. Got home and found this, it did not want to come out had to use a small drill bit then grab it with a pick.

Why would they not come from the factory if they were necessary?

Formula supplied them from the factory on the larger SS boats with bigger power and Bravo III drives.

Careful with those cap style drive showers. Make sure you use Red Locktight on the bolts. I had one on for 3 seasons and out of no where the drive cap bolts loosened up. Of course it happened at full speed and took the whole drive out. Need less to say in this case the leaving factor seal would have been the better solution.

That's the great thing about the Simrek Halo's, only 1 bolt, Locktited in and no holes to drill. My XR's have the finned top cap, and I had to use a Halo, which was my 1st choice anyways.........
