I just wanted to thank all you guys for your help . I just pulled the trigger on a set of Polk MM6501 Ultra Marine and MM651 Ultra Marine dirt cheap out of N.Y. Special thanks to Waveform and BDiggity !! .....

i cant wait to start building the boxes for your subs.... you have only had that stereo equipment laying around for probably 10 years or so now so its about time you decide to get cracking on this. I guess since you wont be able to afford to put gas in it, you will be able to sit in it in the garage and jam out pretending your boating..... tell ya what, i will even bring the water bottle and give you a spritz every now and again to make ya think you are on the water......lol

FYI - the MM series are 2.7 ohms, plan accordingly. Looks like the MM UM series are 4 ohms.

That's nominal impedance, effective resistance while the speaker is playing, is going to be pretty similar if not the same.
