Shame to hear about the Arriva's .. I have been keeping my eyes open for one of the older 2450's that came in the red/white paint scheme to use as a rebuild platform - sounds like that may be a mistake from all of the bad press in this post..

Had a 2000 VIP Vindicator that was actually pretty bad ass.. Not sure where the comment of the "fishing boat seats" came from - maybe an earlier model?

I believe the 19' and 21' Vindicators had the pedestal seats and thats what some are referring to. Mine hasn't been a bad boat over all but as the years go by I can sure see the lack of high quality construction showing through.

Now I know when it's about to do it and I straighten the boat and raise the drive a little. These boats have a lot of quirks like that. When you master them they are a blast to drive. They are very sensitive to trim and tabs and I'm constantly making small adjustments to both. I love driving my little Donzi and I think the little u boats were very similar.
When I raced kneel down boats I ran runabouts for a while. There are two bottom designs. "Flat Turners" and "Chine Turners" which roll on their sides/chines.
I raced the chine turner first and loved it. I raced the flat turner after that and wasn't smart enough to consider the different driving style. When I attempted to roll it on its side at the first pin of the first turn, it instantly spun.
Point being, I never thought to blame the boat

I sold VIP's for a while and we sold a few of the Vindicators. They all ran good and customers loved them except it was the era of OMC outdrives in them (I think they owned VIP at the time).
The small blocks were OK but the 460's grenaded the drives.Had one customer w/a 23 and I lost track at 3 drives. Sucked too cuz the dealer had ZERO experience dealing w/Hi Perf and always blamed the customer even though i knew better.

I agree they shouldn't have blamed the boat, but they did. The factory models had trim limit switches to keep the drive from being tucked under as far and made it much less likely to put the boat on it's side.

Early Eliminator 33 Daytona. High quality build true to Eliminators heritage but horrible bottom design and respective performance. Porpoise was horrible and in some cases uncontrollable and turning manners were downright scary.
