I'll go +1 on the Switzer. Riding on the one my friend owned, I could feel every ripple in the water through the floor. That was when I wasn't scared to death by the chine-walk. I remember one day when my PP 185 XLT and his Switzer were rafted up next to each other when some A-hole came flying by and hit us with a 2 foot boat wake. It tore the bow cleats right out of his deck. No damage to mine.
I'll also throw Chaparral's name in the hat. My friend had a 20 footer, and we broke everything on that one. Granted we ran it hard. Never a good day when you pull the boat out of the water and there is a stringer poking out of the side of the hull.

im going to agree with low psi on the mach 1 boats and some of the older baja's..the last mach one i worked on had the same issues with the stringers,,their was no wood, just a hollow fiberglass stringer that was crushed so bad it threw the coupler through the bell housing in pieces.as for the baja it was a little better built but still had a ton of wet and roted wood,i had to replace the transon and all the stringers and bulk heads..the newer bajas are built a little better then the older ones..

It does have wood, but they us Green XL, the stringers are guaranteed for LIFE. Additionally, the warranty transfers with the boat.

Just be clear, you named two separate builders, Baja and BAHA. You are referring to Baja a few times and want to make sure you're talking about the correct manufacturer. BAHA CRUISERS is the manufacturer that makes the Mach 1.

A sidewinder jet in the Hudson? yep its going to fail little boat half stringers big heavy motor lol

Now for the Profile,I am rebuilding a race version of the 308 and I can tell everyone for a fact this is a POS the core was not laminated corect nor was the deck put on straight but the bottom looks good and should run fast for a delta pad with a notch transom.

Taylor Jet.
I replaced the 460 Ford for a customer and during the installation I noticed the fuel tank mount bolts appeared to come through the bottom and had no apparent bolt pads etc. I looked under neath the hull and sure enough it had four flat head bolts tun through the bottom into the angle pc's welded to the tank!!! We thought maybe it was customer done until the marina across the street had an identical boat in the their lot. I checked and it was identical.

I thought the same thing about the fuel tank mounts on my Taylor. Seemed crazy to me but it's actually pretty common. My Taylor, Condor and Southwind Jets are all like that.

[QUOTE=hotjava66;3663482] Was a 26 maybe, and they offered a couple other sizes, looked a lot like a liberator. Got on the thing and started grabbing hold of winshield, gunnels, etc and everything flexed, I mean visible movement including the hullsides. Supposed to be "high performance offshore boat, very fast" LOL. I want to say Mirage but not really sure, been too many years.[/QUOTE

Couldnt be a Mirage. Ive owned 2 of them and have numerous friends with them and they are as solid as they come. Lifetime warranty on the hull. Everything thru bolted and stainless.
