Where you boat and water conditions play a part. My bro has a 225 Crownline on lk Charlevoix and I boat on st Clair. They don't ride well in slop and I wouldn't own one unless I was on a smaller inland lake.

I boat on lake St Clair and I have around 9K to spend (already surpassed my previous 7k limit!). I have been looking at boats for over a month and have seen a couple in person, so that is why I updated my spending limit a bit.

My previous boats I have used on LSC were a 19ft 73' Sea Ray and a 21ft 84" Sea Ray..... I see any of these boats an upgrade over those... My 84 was a pretty nice boat

I bought a brand new, I orded it 225 ccr Crownline in 1994. 350mag alfa with bolsters.
It was the most fun boat I ever had and I have had a few. That being said, I shattered the bottom on it the first season, they told me use it the rest of the year and then they took it back and built me a new hull a 1995 that was very different from the 94 hull bigger stringers and bulk heads, they told me that they knew they had a problem with the 94s. Look in the storage holds under the seats in the cabin if it is a early 94 build it will not have the stringers in the forward section or the cross ribs. If you cannot see these I would say walk away. BUT! they are great little small lake/river boats with alot of room.

Looking for a family boat? Or a fun party boat? If your looking for a great ride I would pick the Formula. If your looking for something that is a blast to drive on st. Clair look into a 24x7.

I was thinking about this Baja with a tyler cockett engine..... My boat guy said that the other boats are better than Baja

http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/boa/2945112799.html

I think its a great deal, but wonder if the boat can handle the power and also it probably drinks gas. He will for sure take $9500... I was told with this Baja, you are pretty much paying for the motor and getting the boat for free

Nothing wrong with buying a Baja. Infact those 24's run quite well! Any boat you look at should be surveyed (well worth the $$$). If it was me I wouldn't feel the need to pull the trigger immediately. In the next month more will come up and there will be better variety. Also take each out for a spin and see what you like best.
