As he gets along side he sees her looking at him like WTF? He stops and gets out and comes over to her window and says "Are you waiting to pick up a boat" She says Yea. He says, well I didn't know because your lights aren't on. She says " Never heard of that".

In 40 years of boating, I have never heard of nor seen this at any ramp in California, Arizona or Nevada.

Has anyone else ever heard of turning on your truck/trailer lights to let others know your picking up a boat?

Not a big deal, the guy was nice to her, just curious if this is normal at some ramps.......like ones I've never been too!
I live 2.5 miles from that very spot.. and I've never heard of it.

Been boating in Parker AZ my whole life and have never heard of it? (just moved to havasu)

You can add PA and MD to the list. For that matter I always disconnect my trailer lights beofre launching as I was always told (True or not) that leaving them connected could blow the bulbs.
