With the exception of the last two years I have run the A-Bay Poker Run since 2003, and the 1000 Island Poker Run. I have never seen Bill run in an unsafe manner. Bill lives on the river and I am sure he gives the proper respect to his neighbors, tourists, and anyone else running on the river. Let's not forget that the same model boat was involved in a low speed rollover in Key West two years ago. If the speeds were ANYWHERE near the speeds being ASSUMED I am sure the results would have been catastrophic. Until we know some hard facts lets give them the benefit of the doubt. Just my .02.

Absolutely. Like I've said before, unless I heard it from the horses mouth, no way he was doing 190.

Default Another Blind Date type hoax???

I am usually pretty good at research and finding things often missed.

I have spent way too much time today trying to ascertain if this supposed, rumoured spin ever occurred.

I have found nothing that doesn't have a disclaimer attached!

Granted, there have been some great statements and misstatements said about it, but all for naught if the entire conversation started with what is basically a lie!

I have found nothing! One of the posts said something of a posted video... yes there is a posted video! The video appears to possibly be near Carleton Island where the GFs can stretch their legs, NOT of any spin or near accident.

http://www.abay.com/alexandriabaynynews2452.htm this is the link which seems to be used to prove the mishap, it says in the teaser it is a rumor!

In this case I think I would just as soon be wrong, so if anyone has anything which truly documents this incident, please post it.

it seems strange that someone claims to have a video of a 190 mph spinout, but it is no where to be found, and not 1 person has said they saw it happen.it,s rumors like this that keep insurance premiums rising, until i see some factuial information,i will concider this nothing more than a rumor.

Just like having a corvette, or any serious car, takes a mature person to understand safe and common sense, it's the same way on the water. Unfortunately, the accidents take place every single year. Mostly drunks, but some just funnin around. It's already ruined night boating, on many rivers people are too scared to go out, and on many lakes people from pontoons and up have to deal with speed limits because of the crazies.

Matt is right. I continue to be amazed that anyone can see anything at those speeds, much less a PWC or kayak or whatever. Three miles a second. I know for certain my eyes aren't that good, I wonder if anyone's really are. There's a reason drag races and racing in general isn't allowed on the roadways. Nobody else would stand a chance.

Not an indictment of performance boating. Just some boaters, many of whom have ruined boating in general in many areas. The first time you hit anything will be your last. At those speeds, it probably would be the very last thing you do.
IF they were going 190 that would be about 24 seconds a mile not 3 a second. it would be nice if the owner or crew would come on here and give the FACTS. I have been in pr with in a boat capable of 170 but he always runs between 100 and 145 at the most. and it depends on traffic. we run the bay and ocean. about Mr. fix and hitting the jet ski, I am sure it was a joke since there's always guys on here complaining about jet ski's getting in our way. hell I had a video from the 1990s, where it looks like Iwas going to run down a jet ski . while we were getting on plain. camera angle lol, my post was I tried to get him lol. well going to read the rest and I hope the My Way guys post to clear things up. be safe guys( oso people ) hope you all have a great and safe summer its been great being hear.Artie

Default The problem...

The problem is the disservice to all involved!

If not true, an unfair blemish has been attached to My Way, the helmsman, the owner, the crew, the sport and the function!

Some "do gooder" hears of this untruth and there could always be a chance A Bay might not be able to run this event again.

Solution? Might not be one! The bell has been rung and any attempt to try to prove it never happened could be looked on as a cover-up. Might be easier to resolve if it did happen!

i am suprised that mr trulio would do a commentary without facts to back it up,if he has facts on this,i would think he would post them,if not,he helped to fuel the rumor fire.matt,do you know more on this than what you have already posted?
